This whole thing looks like dumb x wrong + hired by stupid equals Bad News.

    1. Dead beat dad doesn't want to go to jail for not paying child support.
But the guy doesn't deserve to be gunned down for resisting. This is another case of a single cop confronting people that do not respect the police.
More officers in the confrontation would no doubt calm the resistance.

    2. Hyper Single Cop freaks out over guy resisting and running. Probably mentally unfit to wield deadly force.
The guy doesn't belong in jail though for having a job he is unfit to perform. Sound like he will face maybe 30 years confinement at tax payer expense. To what purpose?

    3. The Police Policies need to change in confronting Black people that do not respect the police. Then I would also blame the police leadership for
hiring this officer, he apparently lacks the judgement and probably the character set to carry deadly force.
The Cops boss is negligent in his duty by putting this unfit Cop on duty. Perhaps the Cops boss would benefit more from a bit of that jail time, no doubt that taxpayer would.

The purpose is to show that our peace officers are accountable for thinking they can use excessive force. This occurrence happens more than you think, with only video footage usually making the mainstream. Once the cops understand that they can be charged with 30+ years in the pen for murdering an unarmed man, then things can change.

Watched this video this morning. Boy, it's bad. So, let's see:
    1) cop shoots a guy who's running away from him multiple times, 2) after shooting him multiple times, yells at him to put his hands behind his back multiple times so he can handcuff him, 3) plants the tazer near the man he shot, 4) claims that CPR was administered when it wasn't, oh and it looks like all the other cops let it happen.

If they don't convict this guy and send him to prison, it could be a lot worse than Ferguson.

I'm guessing he wants to let him off with a stern warning, maybe promote him?

I don't agree Mags, The police chief is more culpable for this bad scene than the cop. The cop either is not capable of using proper judgement, or doesn't know what is the right action to take under the circumstances. Either way the chief is wrong to have him in that position alone. It has been known for years, that multiple officers can confront a potential resistor successfully far more often than a one on one confrontation. Two officers on this scene and I seriously doubt the guy runs to start with, it never enters the dumb cops head to pull the gun.

Putting the guy in jail changes nothing. Putting the guy in jail is simple making him pay a price for bad police policy that will not change no matter how many beat cops they jail. Finally, I don't think we should jail people to alter the actions of other people. Jailing the police chief for a tad may well get him to thinking more about the policies he oversees. That might do some good.

That bad ass kid in Ferguson may also still be alive if the police policies were right. But in his case maybe not, he was hell bent to prove he was bad. But would he have taken on two cops? If two, about 3 or 4? Cops need to learn to read these things, not better marksmanship. It seems pretty clear that there are a large number of Black people that do not respect the police, send one to confront an antagonist with zero respect authority is setting the stage for a serious confrontation. I don't think more Black cops works either, this lack of respect is for the police regardless of what shade.

Anyone know of crap like this going down with a white guy running away or charging the cop? Hardly ever, the police policies work on all other races because they do not learn to show a lack of respect. When they do, they are not very good in the role and the police don't have to shoot so damn many.

The Navy Shore patrol never shoots a Sailor or a Marine. An don't kid yourself, there are some bad asses on the prowl occasional. The SP don't pack a gun, baton only and they are trained to not confront a bad ass even in a pair. Call for back up and then it is 4 or 6 to one. Usually it ends right there with one liberty terminated by mutual agreement. Occasionally it require the end of a baton delivered in a straight shot to the solar plexus to facilitate the agreement, rarely more.

Throw all the dumb asses you want in jail! The question, "to what purpose?" will remain valid. You need to eliminate the source of bad policy, the pawns don't matter.

Is it the donations to the police officer or the cartoon that you aren't liking?

I don't think I will donate to the fund. But modified cartoon misses the mark rather widely where a real problem does exist.

It's clearly a deliberate murder committed in a momentary fit of anger.

You or I would do a very stiff sentence for that.

A cop should do far more.

Do you think it will improve his disposition for the tax payer to feed him for 30 years?
    Or perhaps yours?
