A ghandi or mlk jr. Style protest would be sit on camera while police brutilize you and this will force people to change, because our deep subconcious hates seeing brutality on our fellow man. However they would discourage going out and trolling for the response. People are purposley fucking with cops to get the reaction they want on camera. Its not the right way to protest, and it's not going to yeild the desired result.

The problem is the ego. The avearge american ego, especially baby boomers and the coddle generation, is so larg, and so fragile. We will kill someone just to be percieved as "right" over an arguement about nothing. Its pathetic. And this modern version of "peacefull" protest is feeding into the narrative.

If what the police say is true, he was filming them during shift changes. It definitely seems like he was planning an attack. Driving around with a fully loaded 100 round drum mag is highly questionable. Still, I'm hoping they have more actual evidence because it's going to be hard to convict him without having actually committed a crime.

Portland pair accused of blocking cars while filming officers

A pair of Portland residents face disorderly conduct charges after police said they obstructed the bureau's East Precinct driveway while filming officers Tuesday night.

Robert Lee West, 51, and Sarabeth Rachel Long, 38, both face the misdemeanor accusations after their arrest around 9:45 p.m. a few blocks from the police station, said Sgt. Pete Simpson in a news release.

    ...

"Filming officers, or any member of the public, is not a crime as long as the person filming is not committing a crime to do so," such as blocking a driveway or trespassing, Simpson said.

    ...

Simpson said West and Long were part of a group of people standing at the parking garage entry filming officers as they entered for a shift change. Simpson said officers informed the group they were allowed to film, but they could face arrest if they continued to block the entryway.

While some in the group complied, Simpson said West and Long did not.

West, who runs www.filmthepolice911.com which takes visitors to his YouTube channel, denies the group was blocking traffic. He said they were there to specifically "audit" and test bureau's response to filming.

"The police are waging war against cop watchers," West said on Wednesday. "This is a war that they declared. They're arresting us for stuff that is totally legal, but they're doing it just to do it."

West, who is well known to officers in multiple jurisdictions for filming them, has been arrested several times on accusations of disorderly conduct and interfering with officers dating back to 2013, according to state court records. That's among numerous other misdemeanor, traffic and parking accusations.

Court records show he was convicted in 2014 of second-degree disorderly conduct stemming from an arrest the year before.

A six-person jury in May found him guilty of two counts of disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer stemming from an arrest in June 2015.

Ive protested comcast verizon and now sprint. I do so peacefully, by wasting their money bothering their support teams. Not by walking into their headquarters and killing people or following them with guns. Im pretty much ghandi light but i definitely dont do hunger strikes cause im fat and love food.
