The solace of every major Oregon sports team that fails on the big stage. "They played hard and got SOOOOOO close! Good for them!" It's been 38 years since I've been able to say anything else.
This is so fucking true...If they ever wrote a book about Oregon sports it would be in the title... "They played hard"
To be fair in basketball sweet 16 or elite 8 is about the max at the moment, winning it all is a long ways down the road. Football they're extremely close and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the championship game next season again. We're still Oregon. We don't have a huge base of talent, it's really a blessing to be as good as we are now.
You have to have someone to pass it too. Other than Joe only Abdul Bassitt was hitting tonight and unfortunately he can't dribble without tuning it over. So unless he is wide open...it doesn't work out well. I get that some of you have not seen many Oregon games this year so you will have to trust me when I say....he passed too much tonight. Oregon getting this far with the talent they had this year was nothing short of a coaching miracle. Young played almost every minute of every game because they were horrible without him on the court.
Great season from the Ducks. It saved Altman's job and stuck it to Canzano who campaigned to have him fired. The team has a great recruiting class coming in which should mesh with this one. Tyler Dorsey could be a great one! GO DUCKS!
The recruiting class isn't finished yet. Altman has a couple of other prospects interested and will probably go after another big body since Chandler and Sorkin are so skinny.
Sorkin will add weight but will be a stretch 4. Chandler as the size but the knee injury caused him all mobility. Can he come back from it? I hear different reports. I agree that Dana is not done. He will add two more. one big and one more wing.
