I like the idea of us facilitating a trade to this team and getting these prospects back. I'll give 2 players I'd love to have abs could be potential targets in a 3-Team trade involving Markeiff. Let's see if yall can guess them Player A: 22 years old, 6'5 SG, played 2 seasons Per 36: 15ppg, 4reb, 2ast on 40% FG and 35% 3pt shooting. High motor, great defender, with top notch 2 way potential Player B: 22 years old, 6'6 PG, 34 career games in 1 season Per 36: 11ppg, 8ast, 4reb on 30% FG and 19% 3pt shooting. A good defender. In 7 D-League games, he shot 35% from 3 and was a 40% 3pt shooter in college.
If we trade for Markieff it's cap-room, trade exception for him but even then it isn't a no-brainer because we could use these 8mil iin other ways. I still think he's a good player, though, and probably not over-paid. He could give us another very nice piece in the front-court but maybe we could keep the money and try to bring a "game changer" instead.
On a rebuilding team, why would you want to take on an undersized PF who shoots poorly from three (if any of our players shot his percentages you would all be griping), rebounds well below average for his position and would take time from other guys with more upside? I don't disagree he might provide a few more wins this year, but that is not the point of this year. Three years from now he will still be an undersized non-rebounding PF, when we could have developed Vonleh, Davis, or even Alexander with those minutes.
I would take either Pope or Dinwiddie. I really liked Dinwiddie coming out of school, but he sort of disappointed in his rookie year.
you seem to keep wanting to trade away all these assets we've already acquired and for low character guys and get rid of all our draft picks...one step forward, two steps backward to become what exactly? Who exactly are these role players that are suddenly going to be signed before November that fill out the roster? Might try and focus on the actual roster we have for a change and start some hype for their success...just sayin'
I may actually believe this. Hahaha! The truth of Morris probably lies between what the 2 camps (the Bring Him Ins & the DON'Ts!) believe. I think for those of us sayin', if he's cheap, bring him in: he may not help our team as much as we might think/b worth the headache for what he might produce. He is young though so... At the same time, he's definitely got baggage & he may get himself into more things during his time here IF he came here BUT I don't think the trouble he might cause would b as severe as ppl think (to our players/team growth etc.).
Without google off the top I'm guessing player a is Terrance Ross and player b is MCW? What's the answer? Edit: ok so player B isn't MCW. I don't think he played in the D league.
Might be their version of canzano, but: "how long can the Suns go with an unhappy player, one who plans to cause problems? Could the Suns end up suspending Markieff? Will they eventually trade him? Will Markieff finally learn to think for himself instead of having his brother do it for him? How this will play out will be fascinating drama. A spoiled, troubled millionaire athlete, who is not even that good of a player, making demands and promising to wreck the Suns’ season before it even starts. A player who demands a phone call from management but couldn’t call the Suns himself after he was arrested for felony aggravated assault." http://arizonasports.com/2015/08/12...n-is-going-to-get-real-ugly-for-phoenix-suns/
I admit I never liked the guy. Personally hoping he gets Sprewelled out of the league so someone more deserving can take his place.
I just don't see the point. I doubt he would be part of the future unless they think he can play the 3. Plus he would be taking away from the development of younger players. Phoenix will hold out for something of value. If we were going to just sign a player for the purpose of obtaining assets, then I would rather go the Tristan Thompson route and offer him the max in order to steal him from Cleveland. Then trade him next year. But to be honest I would not even do that. (It's still a better option though iMO)
If the Blazers ever brought in MCW it would really send the wrong message to Lillard. It's a great way to ruin the chemistry though.
Would it? I'm not a big fan of MCW, but wouldn't a tall PG slot in nicely with Lillard, who could then focus more on scoring.
I think he would be OK with that as long as the tall PG was coming off the bench. Of course that tall PG also needs to be able to guard SG's or there is very little benefit of playing him with Dame. If he can't, then we might as well have CJ on the court with Dame.
I think Aminu will guard the tough assignments in the backcourt just like Batum used to. Aminu can guard 5 positions..Harkless can help out as well as Crabbe. Our point guards are not going to be guarding Chris Paul..behind Dame we have Spud Webb and Mugsy Bogues
He's not? I think he is. The guy is an all around solid player. Above average defender, can shoot from anywhere. .300+ 3PT is good for a big dude. Plus he didn't get many touches in PHX. The only visible weakness I see in his game is rebounding. Like I said, if we don't have to give up much, I say go for him.
