I've no idea where you're pulling these stats from. It seems near impossible to accurately sort out statistically what one player's defensive effect is as switches happen on most every single play. I do have an idea where I'm pulling my impression of his D being merely ok-ish though. Watching Melo torch him. Watching Jamal Crawford (who MW was "guarding") go by him at will. lol siting Shane Battier. I know you really really want him to do well, but I'm paying attention to what is happening not just hopes and dreams.
What would lead anyone to think that Martell can create the necessary space for an open look or that Travis has the physical agility to move his feet well enough to decently defend the perimeter? More power to Martell excelling in the opportunity before him, but history isn't projecting what we're hoping.

As far as I can tell both play the same role on offense the first 20 seconds of the clock or so. Both primarily stay on the perimeter and moving the ball for an open look for a shooter, taking open deep looks, and making the occasional backcut or drive to the hoop. Neither handles the ball much, sets screens, or ever posts up. The final 4 seconds of the clock Travis is (or now was) one of the primary Go! options, but other then that I see far more in common with their roles then not.

btw... no one is complaining about his salary. Personally I feel it about matches his performance... slightly below average.

I really wish Webster would be that nice 2/3 combo guard we need. He's a perfect fit, if he could just make better decisions with the ball in his hands. I really think he could be as important to us as a Kersey-type (Super high expectations), Ruben Patterson without the drama (Good expectations) or Augman (decent expectations). We need that defender type that gets assigned to guard the other team's most prolific perimeter scorer.

I am really a fan of Webster and only wish him the best in Portland.

Are you even watching the games or just looking at box scores? To say that he hasn't been good on defense is absolutely retarded. Sure he hasn't shot well. But he is playing solid defense and there is plenty of evidence to support it...I'm sure you'll find a way to say it's "wrong" or that defensive stats aren't concrete. Anybody that knows anything about basketball will tell you he is playing good defense. I would put anything on the fact that you have never played basketball at any level.

LOOK AT OPPONENT COUNTERPART PER 48 PRODUCTION (that means the man who he is assigned to on defense...do you understand that?)

what am I supposed to say to this crap??? Hows the steroid regimen going? If your next post isn't a perfuse apology for acting like a complete asswipe, welcome to ignore. Such pathetic personal vitriol reflects a whole lot more on who is dishing it out then who is on the receiving end.

talk hoops, keep the personal BS out or get lost
