Is this Plumlee kid that good or is this some sort of in with the coach? Oh well, whatever, I look forward to see what Plumlee the Blazer does.
I sure hope he and Leonard can sort out who is PF and who is Center. A coach might help with that task.

I'm glad Dame bowed out but happy to see Plumlee represent. I've got nothing against team USA basketball. Joel P broke his leg taking a shower. Shit happens.

It probably doesn't make much difference what they are called, but if they are on the floor at the same time Plumlee will play closest to the basket since he has limited range on his shot and is a better shot blocker. I guess you can call him the center.

Leonard will have to be the one to play away from the basket for spacing purposes. So I guess he is the stretch 4. But you could also call him a stretch 5 and list Plumlee as the power 4. Bottom line is.....who cares.

On D Plumlee is by far a better rim protector, but they are both pretty mobile so they can switch out.

Each player has to decide when playing nationally helps or hurts his NBA game. With Nic, I think everyone agreed he needed rest. Lillard may think he is better off not playing. Hopefully Plumlee understands.

He's well suited for international competition. Kind of like an athletic Freeland.

If He did go your complaint would be:

"Why the hell is Lillard risking his future playing for a team that's not paying him!?"

Choose a side of the fence...

    Exactly.

By staying home Dame can focus his daily workout on the things he needs to work on. This is better for the Blazers than Dame spending his summer a minion to someone else's agenda.

Likewise, playing with Team USA is probably a good way for Plumlee to work on his game against a high level of competition. This is good for the Blazers.

    Different strokes for different folks.

I don't think I'm on any fence. I looked at the "How Dame Is Spending His Summer Vacation" thread and my reaction was I'm glad he stayed home and is working on the parts of his game he thinks he needs to work on. His physique looks great. Unlike someone like Plumlee, at this point in Dame's development I don't think he gets a great benefit from scrimmaging. Conversely, it seems like this kind of competition against good players would be beneficial to Plumlee.

Also Team USA isn't going to let him drink during his workouts.
