We have 3 true building blocks now. Dame, CJ, and Plumlee. Just one more really good wing scorer and we are right there imho.
Down the road maybe. But if someone like Indiana or Sacramento wanted him for two certain all-stars... I wouldn't say no.
I'm on record as saying that this season, Stotts is playing with the pieces NO provided, and basically trying to determine who is a keeper (building block) and who isn't. This far into the season it's apparent that Plumlee and Davis are building blocks for the future, and both make NO look better and better every game. The other new players were worth the minimal gamble NO took and the jury is still out on them. But with the direction the game is currently going. Plumlee is exactly the kind of center this (and any other) team needs....unless you can get an AD, KAT or or a Boogie with an attitude transplant. We'd be nuts to trade Plums for anything else.....
uhhh no thanks. they arent all smart. Christian Laetner never amounted to anything and he had that huge F'up in the tourney too right?
He played 12 seasons, wasn't fantastic but wasn't shit either. Besides, Duke has put out some real solid players over the years. Pretty consistently good players.
Looking back, how idiotic was our GM. How was Nolan Smith a first round pick? Why would we trade Miller for Felton? Why didn't we pick up Faried when we all wanted him?
Do you still want him? I bet he is available. But it seems like there are always cheaper versions of him available. Like Ed Davis for example. This is an interesting summary of Faried http://bsndenver.com/five-reasons-why-the-nuggets-should-consider-trading-kenneth-faried/
I really like Plumlee, but we do need another ogre to be the goon squad on occasion. It would've been nice to sub him out for a few minutes without loosing so much size.
Agree to disagree. First, he's not THAT young - he's already 25 (he was 23 as a rookie). Second, yes he's smart, but he can't shoot and he's not a great defender. We were getting abused by the Bulls last night: Pau Gasol could get whatever he wanted. I do love his passing and he is a surprisingly good dribbler, but that's like your PG being a surprisingly good shot-blocker. Here's hoping the Duke connection convinces Quin Snyder to get Utah to swap Gobert for him. After all, Plumlee has better stats right now...
I have been vocal that the trade of RHJ was a mistake, but since RHJ is injured, Plumlee has a chance to look good. And to his credit, he is. And now they've finally launched the Real Plus-Minus stats for this season, I see that Plumlee is 9th in the league in DRPM! (Of course, it kind of undermines the glamour when Jared Sullinger is 13th, but still.)
Sullinger has been rebounding like a beast though. His scoring is down a bit, but overall he has played well.
