I had a cousin that was in Clackamas Mall when the shooter turned it into a hell hole. She was able to text that she was safe, but that was a little too close to home.

Lets see Trump blame Obama for this. Twenty eight people have been killed since the beginning of this year.

This comment is not what we need.

This poor boy and his family IN NO WAY wanted him to be born this way. It's hell on both parents, siblings and him. My son. Who is 15 suffers from extreme anger. Has absolutely zero ability to let stuff go and is really impulsive.

He is on these same types of meds, and it sucks. He cries after an outburst because he doesn't want to be this way. My son is not a nutjob, and my wife and I have been happily married for 28 years. He sees a therapist weekly, and it's still a massive struggle. These kids.....and adults need help, not criticism for something they can't control

More than that in Chicago in 2 weekends.

Mass shootings are the rarest form of death in America.

While it hits you at home (and it's a pretty classless and ignorant thing to say), you seem to have forgotten that Maris just says shit to say shit. It's his shtick. It definitely needs the occasional "off button" tho.

Wasn't Trump going to clean up Chicago and fix the water problem in Flint, Michigan? Instead he rips kids from parents arms and send their parents home without their kids and now have over 500 children that are basically orphans. I don't think he has hardly even mentioned Chicago since his phony campaign promises but as we know, he's a serial liar.

Politicians mostly think of themselves first.
What did BO or his side kick do to help their own City? To me thats sad as well!
Im not a respecter of party or ideas, to not do anything in your home town is not too impressive or productive. I don't care if its Trump, Clintons, Kennedy's or Obama's.
Obama has done squat to help in that war zone.

well, Obama is no longer in office, Trump is and all Trump did was blame all the other presidents and yet has done nothing about Chicago or Flint and there is no excuse for not getting Flint under control. He'd rather spend billions on military, parades and give huge tax breaks to the rich and large corporations while looking to take social security, food stamps for the needy and other programs that are a very very small part of the budget away from the rest of us.

I think that your post has a lot of merit...and I have empathy for your son and those suffering from similar mental issues...my problem in this shooting is this kid legally purchased weapons in Baltimore and ammunition...I think that someone with a history of mental illness should not be able to do that...ever...

Most rational people, including myself, would agree.

HOWEVER, I suffer from depression, meds and everything, and I own firearms. Never once even thought about using it in an illegal way.

    So where's the line?

I think it's because you must control or manage your condition...as opposed to your son or the shooter from Baltimore from what I've read...do you allow your son access to guns and ammo given his condition?

I agree in general, but always struggle with where that line should be, and who should draw it? What qualifies as "a history of mental illness"? Suicide attempts? Anger management issues? Depression? Alcoholism? Bigotry?
