Nobody has ever defended a mass shooter in this forum that I'm aware of.

AR15 is the most popular gun in America. By far.

It looks the closest to what people see on TV in war movies, due to its customizable nature. Customizable items are more popular in nearly every niche of the market.

Of course it's what sickos use.

It is also no different in function than the vast majority of guns in circulation.

The answer is improved access to education, healthcare, and improved social safety net.

Can't we lay off the straw man arguments?

I read an article today about one of the first school shooters back in 97 in Kentucky. Before columbine. He’s actually up for parole soon and the article explored the morality of letting him out. He used a little 22 pistol to kill 3 or 4 of his classmates. Ended up diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I find it ridiculous that we don't do something about the hatred coming out of both sides of America's media. Our media pushes hatred of people and their ideas. I see it coming from both the left and the right media.

Get the wrong ideas into the right, messed up head, and this is the outcome.

Welcome to the new normal in America everyone.

Glad everyone made it out of that situation alright. I would say more, but I had a major setback in my recovery this month. And am having troubles even posting most days.

Excellent post. Teaching people to better use their BS detectors would be a fantastic push in schools.

It's called critical thinking. It is being taught. Some are calling that indoctrination now.

Looks like the shooter originally planned to carry out the shooting at the school there on it's first day back in September. He decided instead on the shopping center sooner.

3 dead, including suspect, and 2 police officers injured in Phoenix shooting
The suspect, who was wearing a “carrier-type” tactical vest and Kevlar helmet, emerged from a hotel, randomly started shooting at the business and tried to throw a Molotov cocktail at some point, police said.

I'm in Sunriver right now myself. And my brother works across the street from that Safeway. Crazy thing to happen here in Bend.

OK, thanks. I used to ride my bike all the time near the Safeway on Century Dr.
