Matt Cassel...Possible late round steal?

    John David Booty is no joke either. Leinarts backup right now. So we might see a spring of USC QB's. I don't know bout Rocky Hinds though. He is got size and speed but might just be like Vince Young.

    The thing i dont understand is why didnt Cassel transfer to a different school if he was so good so he could start

    Life couldn't be that bad. Sat back and won a ring. Still got drafted. I dunno really.

    The way he is playing in the preseason i imagine that next year he is gonna get a lot of free agent offers

    everything I have read in NE papers and quotes from Pete Carroll says Cassel stayed because he thought he could beat out Lienart and I guess it came down to the last day of practice and he lost the job to him...

    But Cassell looked great for a rookie in that preseason game. I was really suprised

    Ya he was fun to watch at least...he made some nice plays and is very athletic but could have been picked off like 3 times and at least two were definites against a real defense...some botched hand offs as well...but still for a kid who hadn't played since high school he did pretty well...

    If I were NE I would keep Flutie based on he has experience. Yea he is old but he might have some magic. Cassell for my 3 and trade Rohan Davey to someone. I am sure they can get a 4th rounder.

    If Cassel continues to have a huge preseason they actually might consider that.
