Nah man. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Best Kept Secret:</div><div class="quote_post">Jamison wanted an opportunity to start, and had said he would not come off the bench another season. They could have thought about using him at the G-F position like Kobe. Harris is still developing. Last time I checked, he averaged 9.4 in the playoffs. They would have done better with a more experienced and talented player like Jamison for the Finals. That was a bad trade.

With Josh Howard emerging and Cuban not willing to pay Nash, I think trading tweener Jamison for 2 of our teams needs at that time was a good move. Would've been good if we had made the trade a year earlier and picked Wade with the #5 pick instead of Harris.

Many believe the Mavericks actually got the better end of the deal acquiring a good young point guard, and a solid sixth man who actually wants to play the role. Where would they really use Jamison in the starting lineup with Howard looking like he is going to be a stud?
wtf relax <div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">What the hell does that trade have to do with this thread? Harris might turn into a nice player one day but his 9.4 points and 2.2 assists in the playoffs wasn't enough. Harris played like a shooting guard, if you people just stuck Jamison at the G-F postion (Paul Pierce like), that would have given you a better shot in the FINALS. It is unfortunate that this couldn't happen. I don't blame the Mavs for trading him at the time, just simply reflecting.
Why? He shoots threes I assumed you could put him in a G-F situation. I'm lazy though clarify. Also, with Harris playing the way he did in the Finals, I thought you people would be better off with Jamison smushed into that lineup. It's not like you were going to miss Harris' dominant defense or assists...
He is too slow to guard some pf's, there is no way he guard a slightly athletic 2 or 3. His D sucks, that is why he plays the 3-4 so he can guard another slow unathletic guy.
You almost have me convinced, however, was Harris' D that much better? It would seem, that you were better off with another more developed offensive weapon. This is for just the 2005-2006 season so they could have beat the Heat, not the future.
Great? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">^^Harris is a great defender and was the one who guarded dwyane wade most of the time</div> Didn't seem to do that great a job did he? Or maybe that is cause of Bennett Salvatore... Yeah whatever.
Please, no K-Mart needed. Team has added a promising WG in Ager, and replaced Griffin with Buckner and Anthony Johnson. The core of scorers remains and the defense should be better. One of the best forward tandems in basketball. The 3 centers worked pretty well for most of the year and should all be better. Bobby Jackson is the unknown. Can he be the same as 3 years ago, making the Mavs backcourt the strongest in the league? No more trades please. And please don't trade Jerry Stackhouse. His personality and leadership excels Jamieson's, despite his streakiness.

And anyway, if avery puts him on Wade, then he must think harris is your guys' best perimter defender.

Like I said I was lazy and didn't look up why Jamison was traded since I didn't follow basketball at that time due to personal reasons.

i dont think he kmart would like coming in for Dirk since dirk will be playing alot of minutes and anyways i dont think kmart is good anyways
K-Mart is a Dallas homeboy and all, but there's no way he would be a fit with this team unless Dirk plays SF and Howard moves to SG. We could've offered Daniels/KVH/Dampier for K-Mart and Camby before Marquis was traded to the Pacers. Terry/Howard/Dirk/K-Mart/Camby would've been a pretty lethal lineup.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gee_Dupe11:</div><div class="quote_post">Man i really dont think the K-Mart Nickname is from his name</div> Kenyon Martin's cheap like K-Mart.
