I would doubt that any of McGregor's hits hurt Mayweather. Conor McGregor is used to wearing 4 oz gloves. He was wearing 8 oz gloves last night. That means he needed to use twice as much power to throw the same punch.

Did you watch he fight? If not why wasn't your ass at my place? Lol
I'd say at least the upper cut hurt him. Not badly but it was solid.

Yeah, he hit him with a good punch or two, nothing great. And nothing to do any legit damage to Mayweather. I said his gameplan was to play defense early and wear him out. Which is what Mayweather said as well. Mayweather threw 6 punches in the 1st round. He threw a whopping 28 punches, total, through the first 3 rounds. I think his strategy was both pretty clear, and, by the result, effective. Why should he try to finish him early, regardless of how overmatched he was, when he knew well his strategy would pay off.

And then ok, football versus rugby, I stand by, would make more sense to stick with what you know and push later than to go a completely different style just because you know you are a better team.

It didn't look like mcgregors punching power scared or affected Floyd too much so I still don't understand why he wasn't more aggressive. Even when coming forward he was defensive. Hands up, not throwing. If he's the best ever he should've knocked him out, and done it early when Mcgregor was active. That would've sent a better message than the safe route he took. Just my opinion.

That uppercut counter was his best punch of the fight.

I did watch it. I went to my best friends house so we could get our boys together.

Yeah and I'm not saying mcgregor had him on the ropes but I think that punch told ffloyd not to f around with mcgregor and stick to the plan or it could go way bad.

McGregor should have used upper cuts when Mayweather put his head down and walked into him. If he uppercutted his ass over and over, Mayweather would have been on his ass, or at least would have stopped putting his head down, which also would have favored McGregor.

I know nothing about boxing and was saying the same Saturday night...which suggests to me that there is probably a tactical problem with that line of thinking. At the very least though, it would have been better than repeatedly attempting illegal hammer punches to the back of Floyd's head. That was pissing me off.

Those got to the point where the only logical explanation was mcgregors muscle memory taking over. I swear a few times it looked like he was going for a takedown before thinking about it. Must be hard to shake all that off in a couple months.

He had his gloves over his face. Uppercuts, or anything aimed at his face, would have just hit his gloves. He was staying low with his hands up to give McGregor very little to hit that wasn't gloves, before opening up with punches of his own when he saw the opportunity.

Now again, I know nothing about boxing, and I've never boxed, but I imagine that that even having your own gloves punched up into your face wouldn't feel great.

Yeah, I doubt it feels great, but for a veteran boxer like Mayweather, blows that land on his gloves aren't going to do any significant damage. Throwing heavy uppercuts is also tiring, especially with 8 lbs gloves. A clean uppercut may have staggered him or even knocked him down, but uppercuts to his gloves would have done more to exhaust McGregor than to hurt Mayweather.
