LOL - comments? $153M for 7yrs. Earth to blg, what's the frequency? Are you cherry-picking stats to make Ellsbury look like a better player than Cano, despite your "not to belittle Cano" BS. The Red Sox didn't go higher than 5yrs/$80M on a player they brought up from a minor league, but you think the Yankees going 2 more years and almost TWICE the $$$ makes sense? Wow! ________________________________ Okay, now that you think I'm a comedian, I'll supply you with a couple of more cherry picked laughable "stats" regarding Ellsbury/Cano. Here goes---- In 4 full seasons since becoming a regular, Ellsbury has led the A.L. 5 times (3 different categories) in batting/offensive stats. In those 4 seasons Ellsbury has hit at least 30 HRs once playing in a tougher park for lefty batters than Yankee Stadium while Cano has also managed to hit at least 30 HRs once in 9 FULL seasons at Yankee Stadium. Cano has played 9 FULL seasons in a very friendly park for lefty batters and has led the league zero times in offensive/batting stats. Yeah, I know Ellsbury has had two seasons with health issues, and both times they were the freaky/quirky type.... I also know it stands to reason that his power numbers should improve significantly playing at Yankee Stadium. Did I also mention Ellsbury IS younger than Cano? I absolutely believe Cano is one of the very best players in MLB...and I also believe Ellsbury is one of the best all around players MLB with more "tools" than Cano. There ya go! Now you can have some more laughs.....enjoy!
