He took more shots than his teammates because nobody else was hitting shots. The Blazers relied on him to provide buckets, but defenses picked up on our lack of scoring and focused on CJ. Did you watch the games or are you just going off box scores?

Nobody hit shots because there was no floor general. He proved the scouts who thought he could play PG wrong.

Did you watch the games? I sure did, while others were saying who cares, SL doesn't matter (the same ones as now, pretending they watched closely, talking vaguely about what they think SL is like, in general, kind of, usually).

Nobody could hit shots the previous year when Lillard was running the show either, and it was virtually the same team (Leonard, Claver, Barton, etc.)

But we didn't lose all our games, so Lillard was setting up players, which McCollum could not do a year later.

McCollum will eventually be a barely passable PG like Bayless took years to become, so I don't mean to say he won't improve. And I say he'll start at SG, maybe in his 3rd year. But so many here talk like he'll start later this season, and are surprised by the Oregonian article (which posters here took as authority until I was the first to call it merely an opinion piece).

Who cares if we lost the games? Summer league success is not measured in wins and losses.

I had to go back a few posts to see what you must be arguing. Look at your train of thought. You must think that SL success is measured by whomever takes the most shots. Therefore, McCollum had no faults, even though his FG% was 10% points less than all other league scoring leaders.

Your next one-liner could be, "SL FG% is always low. Who cares about SL? By the way, I watched more than you did because I care more than you about SL."

The reason for talking about McCollum's SL so much is...that's all we got. You wanna talk about LeHigh?

No, you're saying CJ had a poor summer league, and I'm explaining that the reason why he had a poor summer league is because his teammates couldn't hit any shots and other teams keyed their defense entirely on CJ. The reason why his first few games were good was because the other teams hadn't had a chance to design their defense around stopping him.

You think that SL coaches adjust the defense each game (they play ever day for a week with mostly players who have never played together) to fit each opponent team? His teammates didn't hit shots because he couldn't set up plays, while opponent teams could. We played even more 1-on-1 than usual for the league. He had better teammates than the other teams, as I showed.

It's a misleading title no matter who posts it. The title presents it as fact as opposed to "Why I think CJ won't be a part of the rotation."

And by the way, it was said that CJ McCollum will only play 18 minutes tonight to simulate how he'd play for the Blazers.

When it becomes obvious that there's only one guy on the team who is making shots? Yeah, the coach will make a defensive adjustment, even in summer league.
