I agree...something more to this. McDonagh forced a hand maybe. Tired of the rumors. This trade makes no sense to me. Schooled by Y again...please no more TB deals. Dude says sorry our two best prospects are non-starters and we still deal. Come on now.

I will be consistent on this...do two picks around 28 + really have huge value...not IMO. And if they don't win the cup this year or next year we get a pick in the 20's and a 2nd which will be late also. Not worth throwing a parade over.

Yea but they now have 2 years with McD and JT to make cup runs. TB wins the deal again. And yes, Namestnikov was helped by playing with Stamkos and Kucherov. The 2 best players in the league

It’s believed the conditional 2nd round pick TB sends to NYR changes to a first-round pick if TB wins the Cup this year or next year.

This team might get a top 5 pick now

If it becomes 2 1sts the trade goes to B+ but right now I'd say B-. Namest could be a good player here too and the prospects are pretty solid. No way were they giving Sergachev up.

Let me get this straight: #NYR[IMG] gain 18' 1st, potential 1st in '19 (if TBL wins Cup), Namestnikov - 25-yr-old C who has 44 pts in 62 games, Hajek - a 20-yr-old L defenseman w/good speed & Howden - has 58 pts in 28 WHL games this year & 82 pts in 48 gms. And they got fleeced? Stop.

Not a terrible deal for us at all. We weren't paying McD after next year and miller is up and down. We got youth, a couple of high draft picks and saved some salary. And by the way our D with AV has been awful for a few years now.

Howden had 82 points in 48 games in WHL. Not bad.

Have to agree, to me Mac was always overrated and Miller was just solid. Can't really complain, let's move forward. Saved cap space for the sumner too.

AV better be gone after this season or this rebuild will be useless.

Yzerman hoodwinks Ranger management again! This trade should not have happened
now! Gorton could have waited. Getting rid of Miller gives me an awful feeling
that AV stays. I hope I am wrong.

Just maybe everybody should be ousted.....the coach, the GM, the president,
and how about a numbskull owner!

No complaints from me. They're loaded up for this draft. I liked Miller but he's not a game changer that can't be replaced. It's all about how well they draft.

This was a great deal for us. This is a monster draft. Absolutely stacked. Picked up another super high, IQ, talented defenseman prospect. Don't forget. We have loads of players on our rosters that are dumb. Low hockey IQ. Miller is one of them. I said he would be a bigger version of Callahan. However, his heart was twice as small. He really never improved. McDonagh for whatever reason has slipped the past 2 years with lots of turnovers. I blame AV's stupid system for some of it. However, I had no interest in the team paying him 8 million a season as a 30 year old.

So we have three 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, two 3rd round picks.

How does the conditional pick work? It must be a 2019 conditional pick, otherwise how will we know if TB wins the Cup next year.

Conditional 2nd round pick (2018) which will turn into a 2019 1st round pick if they win it all this year or next.

That must be incorrect and it is 2019 conditional.

I would hardly call the deal a fleecing, nor was the MSL trade as the Rangers were not going to pay Callahan $7 mil and Marty's leadership brought them within grasp of the Cup. Same goes for whatever astronomical number McD will want, now he's back with Girardi in Tampa. I thought McDonough was an awful Captain, will be interesting to see who gets the "C". I've always liked JT, have more of a problem with Gorton including him in the trade giving up size and youth.

Chuck, very simple. As of now we have tampa 2nd rd pick in 2019. If tampa wins the cup this year or next that 2nd order switches to tampa 1st rd pick in 2019

I wouldn't give the C to a player who is the poster child for inconsistent play. One period he shows up. The next period he is invisible. Same pattern over and over again. I cannot see that. Plus his hockey IQ leaves a little something to be desired as well.

Kovalev 2.0 but to be fair Kovalev was worse since he had much more talent.
