I think one of the reasons they kept Zuc is he is going to be the new captain.

I would agree IF they plan to resign him. If they don't and he is gone next season (or after next season) you cannot give him the C. The only way he gets the C is if he is getting resigned.

The future captain of this team is Andersson. I would not have a captain next year. Let Andersson play all season. Give him the C his second year. He can handle it.

Chuck, last year number 30 pick was nashville and Eeli Tolvanen!! There are plenty of top players that can come out of a later pick and this draft is loaded.

I really don't see Nash coming back. I think that is a long shot at best. I think Kovy is much more likely. Could happen, but if I were betting I wouldn't bet on Nash coming back here.

Gorton said today he doesn't think the Rangers need a Captain right now, and it will be figured out later on.

Hard for me to see Andersson as the next Captain. Doubt they go all of next year without a Captain, but even if they do I doubt he is made Captain in his second year. This is not McDavid and this is not Edmonton. I doubt they'd make a young kid in year two Captain of the New York Rangers. Someday yes, but there will be a Captain of the Rangers before Andersson someday. Just my opinion.

Anderson will be the next captain. Maybe year three but that is the guy.

Though I wouldn't rule out Howden in two or three years. He has that type of leadership as well.
