Wasn't it Melo that pretty much called Karl a "Jackass"?

Yeah, I didn't want to trade for Melo, but he's been a pleasure.

Eating crow tastes good when it helps the Blazers.

To be in the same conversation as AI and Billups is a complement.

I agree that Lillard is the better player but Billups was damn good and could end up in the HOF.

I believe his last roster spot was with the Clippers before he retired..

Billups was quite good, and unlike Dame was a great defender. A prime Billups would make for a great guard tandem with Dame

    but Dame is better

    What a joke.

What he said was stupid, too.

Melo wasn't all that before the shut down. He must have worked his ass off during the down time. He's in significantly better shape now and every facet of his game is improved. Plus he seems to have stopped stat hunting and is laser focused on just playing and competing. And winning. And since he's playing instead of thinking, his stats and his contributions have both improved

    I like Melo version 20.20

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Yeah, I'd happily take a prime Billups over CJ. In fact, it wouldn't even be a close consideration for me.

Melo played for so many coaches and roster changes with the Knicks there was never a culture there...then he played with selfish players when he left NY.....his success is a reflection of our coaching staff and the character and unselfishness of our roster....Stotts is the perfect coach for Melo and Dame is the perfect teammate..with Nurk he's seeing a whole new team and he's pumped up

I keep wondering if/when this knowledge that Dame is amazing teammate will result in the Blazers signing or resigning a player on a discount because they want to play with him.

Honestly that will only happen after Dame wins a championship. Players aren't going to take a discount to play with him unless they know there is as greatest chance as possible to win.

I'm not sure I agree a championship is a requirement, but I agree that the possibilty of a championship is a big factor. That creates a whole chicken or the egg situation. Dame and CJ's contracts are going to make building a championship supporting cast around them very difficult.
