Then why don't we keep him, and make him one? LA is developing into a first option. All we need is a #2 like Iguodala, or Devin Harris, or you know... Greg Oden.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I think it's more comparable to a sign-and-trade in the off-season, when the guy getting traded was just going to sign with that team anyway. Like when Orlando traded Ben Wallace to Detroit for Grant Hill, back when Grant Hill was expected to be a superstar and Wallace was seen as scraps. Hill was planning to sign with Orlando anyway, so Detroit basically had to take what Orlando would give.

Similar deal here, except they're doing it before the season ends. Anthony has given no sign he's considering anywhere but the Knicks...so it's essentially a sign-and-trade, not a value-for-value trade.

I do agree with Vinyard, though, that the Nuggets blew it not taking the Nets' deal...it was much, much, much better.

I honestly think if Roy stays then he will "assume" the role of 1st option

Well that is better than what the fans will be doing. Which is assuming the position, and taking it in the keister.

Bleacher Report sucks, King. Not a reliable site. Just a place where fan boys can play journalist.

Then Portland will assume the role of league doormat on their way to losing 75% of their remaining games.

I am really hoping Roy comes back and realizes he needs to change the way he plays to accomodate the new reality of his health.
If not Portland is going to suck for a very long time.

As I recall, it wasn't the Thuggets who passed on that deal; it was Melo who wouldn't meet with L'il Putin.

This has been reported all over the net by many websites (nypost, examiner, espn). Not just Bleacher Report. I was just reporting one of the MANY links.

Could just be Denver trying to get some leverage, but you never know with LA.

My feelings exactly. If New York pulls this off, it's an unbelievable steal. I'm really sick and tired of the "glamour" teams getting away with this kind of crap.

Franchise player in his prime for an often-injured 4th best player on the 2 time defending champs? Fuck the NBA if this goes down.

What does the cap have to do with anything? Financial penalties? LOL.

PA is wealthier than all but a handful of Earthlings.

He has more money than 2/3 of the world's inhabitants COMBINED.

He's just a cheap SOB with nobody but himself to blame for his team's mediocre performance.

If George Steinbrenner had owned this team we'd have 7 or 8 Championships before now.
