See I have brought this up in the past and have gotten killed for it. I have been blasted for using the terms “unrealistic expectations” and “setting yourselves up for failure”. Of course you are going to be absolutely freaking out right now........if you actually thought this team was capable of winning as many games as last season. This squad may still turn things around and have a good season, but there’s a fine line between having a positive outlook, as opposed to an unrealistic one. On a side note, a lot of those thinking we were heading back to the WCF claimed the Lakers would suck this season. #OOPS
On the positive side, I can honestly say Ant has played WAAAAAAY above my expectations. Very impressed.
Yeah he has. Very happy where he is going. I can actually see this kid making a huge difference very soon.
Of the tough 20 games to start the season we are about to start the most difficult part of that stretch though. We've played the 76ers at home without Embiid, the Warriors without their entire starting 5 (Curry, Russell, Thompson, Green, and Looney), and the Kings without their 2 best players (Fox and Bagley). Win those 3 winnable games and we're 7-4 instead of 4-7 even with our own injuries and a tough schedule. Then we're still okay if we struggle on this tough road trip. That is not being unreasonable KJ. Not even remotely close.
How is this thread only 26 pages long? I am surprised it's not 260 pages long after the way this season is going.
Even more so. If they hit another shot against the Spurs and hit one against the Nets they are 9-2. They didn't and they aren't. The place is on full meltdown. There have been stinkers like the loss to GS and there have been losses like last night where they looked completely out of sorts. There have been losses where they should have won. There have been losses where they had every chance to win the game and it just didn't happen. 52-55 wins this year is indeed still obtainable even if they struggle on this road trip. I personally will stick with 48 and be very happy if that happens.
Ahhh yes, the old cliche answer of there are always games that could go either way. For your next point will you mention how Denver lost to Atlanta so all good teams have bad losses?
Here is an interesting stat. Dame's EWA (expected wins added) so far this season is 4.2. The Blazers have 4 wins on the season.
Honestly... So far this year if they didn't have Dame they'd be one of the worst teams in the league... Even with Dame well, the record isn't great.
We are one of the worst teams in the league. Dame leads the league in EWA btw. So basically all our wins are attributed to Dame. Can't really argue that.
Hey, get off my case. When a man's got to take a leak a man's got to take a leak. Look at it this way, finally some of your shrubbery will turn green. You're welcome.
