I think Tatum will be? So yeah my statement is probably wrong. Somebody is going to if they have not already?
Anytime i see this thread on the first page I get nervous that we traded Dame for Lowry, Duncan Robinson and Miami's 2024 pick
You guys! I know I'm being an ass about this whole situation. I hate every second of it. Sorry but My Meltdown thread is my place to do just that!
I fucking hate losing and I absolutely hate losing great players. This team is losing what many feel is it's greatest player and they not only have been but will continue to lose for a while.
Eh. He asked out. No sweat off my back especially the way he handled it. Good riddance to him hope he fails somewhere else. Dont care if "we didn't put the people around him", he showed his true colors and he can peace the fuck out for all I care.
They shelved him and they went on the tank. Now he's gone. Then you adding in the Covid year seems a bit ingenious at best. So yeah I agree. I don't like any of it at all.
Many have. Just shows, don't be sanctimonious when you can not adhere to your line. I'm shocked Paul George has not taken a victory lap on Dame.
I view it as the Blazers lost Lillard when we did that stupid Clippers trade. That was the last chance to build a winner and we failed. Trading Lillard for value now is about setting the team up for 5-10 years from now. So hopefully we don't repeat the same lack of talent as when LaMarcus left for nothing and we had shit around Dame.
I always thought the Clippers trade was horrible, but I don't see Norm or RoCo having anywhere near the value that would have been required to bring back the talent to build around Dame. We shouldn't have traded for RoCo in the first place. GTJ should have been traded for a wing... not a 6'4 guard. Neil was a moron. I was mostly unhappy with dumping Norm for nothing, and doing it a week before the deadline. We could have used his salary for matching purposes... but I think this team has wanted to rebuild since Joe took over.
The Clippers trade was a necessary evil to start the Grant trade and re-sign Ant - as it allowed the Blazers to get rid of Powell's salary. Basically, between this and the New Orleans trade the Blazers got rid of 2 big salaries (Norm, CJ) and replaced them with 2 other big salaries (Grant, Ant) while staying out of the Tax. Basically, the Blazers balanced the roster a bit by replacing a SG and a SG playing SF with a SG and a SF playing PF.
