That was the goal as a first step to build a contender with dame. Otherwise, why does anything matter. Unfortunately, dame doesn't want to wait for the process, but why it was done is clear.
Is it time to move this thread to the Miami Heat board? Their fans seem to be in full freakout mode that the Blazers haven't traded Dame to them for a pittance yet.
As the poll questions states. This is the thread to end all after loss threads. Losing Lillard is a loss so it might not work for Miami unless they actually lose the chance to get him. Then Yeah post it on their board too! Then we can feel the meltdown they are experiencing. Edit- Funny the results of the poll 50%-50%
Not yet. Some Blazers "fans" still want to trade Dame for a pittance. They're somehow convinced Dame will be worth less in a month or two.
Seriously, this is the least likely season for a meltdown in a long long time. Expectations are low and I don't think people are too attached to any player on this roster that might leave in a trade. Barring catastrophic injury which we are all probably conditioned to fear, I don't see anyone having a legit reason to meltdown for a while.
If we're bottom three in defense again this season by Christmas I'm going to meltdown over the coaching staff. Two years of tanking and injury don't get a pass this season for me...you need to win and show that you're trying to make the playoffs. Otherwise I want Chauncey gone if we don't look like a team with an actual system, which we haven't for the last two years....just a "zone defense" tag so far.
The funny part is I actually agree with you here. However! Just wait a month. This team/franchise can find a way to piss people off. Even the TV deals are subject. What does the city edition jersey look like? Will Jody sell to the Saudi prince? Camara angles? Maybe the move away from McNuggets? Beer prices? Bathrooms? Oh yeah there is plenty of room for the Meltdown Thread.
I mean, we literally have mostly a team made for a bad season. Maybe not tanking, but it's not gonna be pretty. And thats fine, the first few years of GSW before they had the dynasty was bad, too. lol. (Im ready for the stats to prove me wrong, because Im literally just thinking about how bad they use to be, not looking at any stats lol)
Cronin can fake injuries. We hear "player participation" discussed by Blazer announcers. As if that relates to the Blazers. It does not. Cronin can tank the living hell out of this Blazers team after the trade deadline. There are 0 All-Stars in Portland, which makes them exempt from the new benching star players rule.
Exactly. Very few teams can actually tank this year. The Blazers are one of those teams that can sit multiple players.
