Well I've been told that if you don't try for 26 but try for 23 instead then you aren't a real sports fan and are also a blight on humanity. So there you have it.
Even Scoot has said he thinks coming off the bench has helped him study the NBA game and as long as he plays decent minutes he will improve. Its not a bad thing allow any rookie some coming off the bench time. just my opinion.
Brogdon has helped Scoot develop just as Dame assisted others rookies. Sure, trade him if we get a legit reasonable return, but dont give him away in a fire sale.
Keeping Dame and putting talent around him would have been better. No doubt. But he demanded out. Kinda had to do it.
No. We traded the best player in franchise history because he demanded out. If we had kept him Scoot would be developing off the bench and probably not playing right now.
I think any first is a good return for Brogdon. But there is no reason to trade him if we aren't getting a first.
I'm thinking we trade RWIII for a couple of 2025 seconds. What's your meltdown level if that's all we do?
You dont need a 22 mil guy who plays 15 more minutes than the rookie to actually mentor him. We have a HOF PG as our coach. Even our lead asst in a former PG who won a title. Hell, Scotty Brooks also coached a close facisimile to our prized a rookie for nearly a decade. If you need a mentor, we can try to sign a vet PG for a minimum in the buyout market. That is not the reason to keep Malcolm.
Wrong. We got Kevin Kunnert, Kermit Washington, cash, and a 1980 first round pick (turned out to be #7 overall).
it’s simply amazing to me the lack of credit or acknowledgment to those of us who said his minutes are fine and he can learn off the bench, those opposed to that will give. If Scoot himself said this, then it directly verifies the stance some of us had that he doesn’t need as many minutes as possible and he can learn from the bench. But those adamant this isn’t the case just sit in silence and simply refuse to acknowledge they might have been wrong or slightly off in their opinion. Some posters here can be sooo frustrating with that type of behavior, and then wonder why they get mocked or made fun of at times… own your wrong opinions people…..
Is that vet min point guard going to get the minutes to then come back t the bench and explain why he is doing what he is doing on the court to Scoot? Why is this sooo dismissed as meaningless? A mentor/teacher needs the minutes on the court in todays game to show and explain what he is seeing and what he is doing too counter it. No vet min point guard is going to get those types of minutes or likely have the skills and knowledge a guy like Brogdon has. That's why they are a min contract. Or they would be better and have more value. AGAIN for the gazillionth time, ANT himself said this was very valuable to him when Dame did it for him... Then you have to find a vet min POG with the BBIQ and WILLINGNESS to do this.... The dismissal of the counter arguments to this stance is ... shortsighted. To not give in when the player himself has said it has helped him grow, is really being sooo stubborn to not actually admit one might have been off, it really makes every other opinion suspect. minimizes any type of respectable credibility to having sound opinions. Ill just go on and be direct. You are wrong in your opinion @illmatic99. Even Scoot has said so.
Friendly reminder that we traded the best scorer in franchise history because he wanted out. We certainly did not trade Bill Walton to make Scoot the PG of the future.
This franchise is a ship adrift without direction. We have people capable of giving us direction but they are asleep at the helm. Just extremely disappointed that we are treading water with a record like we have, seemingly having a couple of win now players that are not going to get better, that we decided to hold onto for whatever reason... whether it's because Joe doesn't know how to drum up a fair deal from any of the possible 29 partners he can tango with or because he overvalues these guys. Just a bummer. Along with Shaedon's injury this inactivity at the deadline and the amount of usage that Jerami and Malcolm are likely to get or the fact that we will sit them to tank as they age into their 30s has me the least excited I've been to watch our team in a long long time. That's all I've got and we're finished until this season mercifully ends in April.
