Shoulder contact is a part of NBA basketball. Any time you go to the neck, face or head that's on a whole different level. Or let me ask you this, which hit would you rather take? That's what I thought.

<div class="quote_poster">kobe4life Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">so what you saying is pushing someone does not warrant a suspension but an accidental elbow in the face should? Has that pushing result in Bosh falling down hard, do you think Bogut should be suspended? .</div>

An 'accidental' elbow in the fashion of how Kobe did it, yes, warrants a suspension. Had he elbowed someone doing something much more natural that you see all the time, then maybe not. But since his arms magically flew perpendicular to his body and caught someone in the face twice in 1 month, then yes, it warrants a suspension. Some shoving between players down low does not unless it escalates.

Durvasa, what are your comments about Mutombo elbowing Delonte West the other night, which resulted in a concussion?</div>Did you see the play? They were both going for a rebound and Delonte jumped straight into Dikembe's elbow. You're taking this conspiracy stuff a little too far now.

No I didn't see the play, that's why I asked Durvasa (Rockets fan), I was wondering how it happened.

Yeah, like 44Thrilla said, Mutombo didn't do anything wrong there. I'll say this: If Deke ever swung his elbows in a reckless manner after grabbing a rebound, and he "inadvertantly" hit someone in the face as a result, I definitely think he'd deserve a suspension.

Man I am flat out tired of the hypocrisy. The only differences between the Kobe incident and the Bogut one is:

    1. Kobe's was probably unintentional. Bogut's was clearly intentional.

    2. Kobe's was to the head. Bogut's was not.

They were both unnatural basketball movements. So... it would seem Kobe is only being suspended because his was a head shot. In otherwords, had Kobe hit Jaric or Manu in the shoulder with the same motion would he have been suspended? This gets interesting.

I have yet to see a good reason for them not suspending him for the more serious looking elbow.
