Ezeli wont play for Portland. He will be heavily shopped as cap savings for next year.

Still doesn't explain why he hasn't had his surgery yet.

Portland is the one that needs those cap savings.

He doesn't need to be shopped for cap savings. His contract is unguaranteed next year.

Maybe. You still see what is out there and make trades to improve the team.

...... i know. I am saying we are the ones shopping him to other teams because of the cap savings he would give other teams due to his unguaranteed deal.

Crabbe and picks for ibaka? Maybe we can get them to throw in hezonja because we will need to replace Crabbes shooting. Not a fan of hezonja really but it's worth a look.

Ibaka would be a good pick up if we could convince him to stay, he fits in Dame's timeline.

Doesn't say anything about them having to be good! Alright Orlando, get ready for some hot Patrick Bergin Connaughton action!

The problem with Ibaka is that he's going to be a free agent. Dude is gonna get paaaaaaiiiiid. But, if we could somehow nab Ibaka and then trade for Whiteside, that would be a really nice step in the right direction. That frontcourt would certainly improve our interior defense.

If all he cares about his money, the team acquiring him has an advantage over any other team trying to sign him because of bird rights.

That's why we're going to get ibaka for Davis, Ezeli, and a 2nd rounder! I'm joking, but take a look at what they traded Tobias Harris for...so maybe I'm not?

That actually appears to work. Wouldn't that be somewhat enticing? Gives ORL a scoring wing and replaces one of the bigs they lost.

My primary concern is that it doesn't fix our lack of defense in our starting backcourt. Plumlee probably gets way to much blame as being a poor defender, when it is really the starting guards. You could bring in Ibaka and Vucevic and they could both end up looking bad also.

According to the radio show I was listening to today, the Blazers had a top-10 offense and NBA worst defense for the first 30 games of the season, but over the past 19 games, they've got a top-10 defense and a bottom-10 offense. If that's the new normal, then perhaps we should be more concerned with improving/balancing the offense.

I don't think Orlando would do both Ibaka AND Vucevic.

    I'd try to do this:

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=j7665xc

And then this summer trade CJ for Whiteside when he comes off the PPP restriction.

I like what youre doing here with this trade but CJ aint going no where no how unless we get a sure fire best player on the team type of guy. Whiteside aint worth it on his own.
