    Hello darkness, my old friend
He's capable of improving. It's just that his lack of improvement through what should be his greatest growth years portends little remaining improvement as he approaches his athletic peak years. Could he be one of the late-bloomers who deviates significantly from usual athletic progression? Definitely. It's just not likely. Unlikely is not impossible, though.

I have no idea why I'm being drug into whatever this is, lol.

    But since I have...

I have a very large penis. This gives me create confidence. That means I can admit when I'm wrong, or say sorry if I've upset or offended someone. Don't need to insult someone to try and win an argument. I can always be the bigger man, the bigger dog, because I have the bigger penis.

As weak as the East is, they still have enough decent players between the 15 teams to field a decent all star team. It's not like they're going to be pulling in people off the streets to play in the all star game (although it might improve the defense of they did).

Assuming BRK does play Crabbe at SF, as they apparently intend to do, he already has several incumbent all stars ahead of him, as well as several up and comers who are both better and younger.

Typically 5 or 6 forwards (combination of power forwards and small forwards) make each all star team. Even if you assume their will be six forwards selected for the East squad, CLE (LeBron and Love), MIL (Giannis and Parker - 3 if you count Middleton) and NKY (Melo and Porzingis) all have at least two forwards better than Crabbe. That's six forwards right there that are currently better than Crabbe. And, even though the East lost all star forwards Millsap and Paul George, they gained Gordon Hayward. So, that's seven forwards currently better than Crabbe and that's only 4 of the 15 teams.

Sure, Melo and LeBron may move West, and they will keep getting older and eventually retire, but there are also other players younger and more talented than Crabbe that will move up to replace them. PHI has Saric and Covington that are both younger and better than Crabbe, and they are adding Ben Simmons this year. WAS has Otto Porter who shoots the 3 as well as Crabbe, but does other things better, and again is younger than Crabbe.

Not counting rookies, there are currently 24 forwards in the Eastern conference that averaged more points per game than Crabbe did last season. Even with an expanded role, I don't see him leap frogging enough of them to be considered one of the top 6 forwards in the conference. And that doesn't include rookies like Simmons, Tatum, Isaac, Adebayo, John Collins, etc, who may not be better than Crabbe is now, but will likely overtake him a year or two from now.

Not hating on Crabbe, just trying to be realistic. Even in a conference as depleted as the East, it's tough to be one of the six best forwards in the conference.

One additional frame of reference that most Blazer fans can relate to... Though technically considered a guard, Nic Batum has averaged 15/6/6 the last two seasons in the East and hasn't sniffed the all star team. Crabbe would need to top those numbers and play on a winning team to have a chance at making the all star team.

Lin has never been an all star. Linsanity was a post all star break phenomenon. The best chance he had was his first year in HOU, but he didn't make it. He's been decent, but has bounced around between 6 teams in 7 years.

Korver is one of the best 3-point shooters in the history of the game. He has led the league in 3FG% four times. He made the all star team one time, in 2015 when he was named as a replacement for an injured Dwyane Wade.

At the time, Korver was leading the league in 3FG% (.528), made 3FG (160) and FT% (.920).

And here's the catch: ATL had the best record in the league and had won 36 of their last 40 games, including a 19 game winning streak.

So, all Crabbe has to do is lead the league in multiple statistical categories while playing on the best team in the league. I don't anticipate either thing happening, let alone both happening concurrently, but I guess we'll see...

The Blazers owe him $19.9M over 3 years, but stretching him means they only have to pay him $2.84M annually, reducing the payroll to right around $3M over the LT.

Connaughton's deal can be declined soon, right? That's another $1.47M off the payroll.

As it stands right now, the Blazers' tax bill is $10M, which is not too shabby if, if, if, you're going to pay tax.

If the Blazers want to max out their payroll spending, they have the $5.2M MLE, a small TPE for Quarterman, and the $13M TPE for Crabbe.
