Was Tony Campbell a star in MIN? Because that's the only kind of "star" Crabbe has the potential to become. Campbell averaged 23.2 ppg his first ear in MIN, after averaging 6.2 ppg the previous year for LAL. He was 14th in the league in scoring, right behind Clyde (23.3 ppg), but MIN won 22 games. POR won 59. Clyde was an all star, Campbell wasn't. Somebody has to score on a crappy team. Maybe that will be Crabbe (but I doubt it, he's too passive to be a No. 1 option), but that still won't make him a star - just like it didn't make Tony Campbell a star. BNM

I bet the Bulls would let Mirotic walk for $12M contract... I don't think we're in the market to go back over the LT in a big way, if at all. If we're over (I haven't done the calculations without this deal), I expect another deal to get us under by the end of the season, if not this summer.
Not yet. This is the first domino to fall. I reserve the right to be thrilled, or not, depending on who we end up out of this after all the dust has settled. If it's Ryan Anderson, I won't be thrilled. He's marginally better than Crabbe when healthy, but he's older, injury prone and makes even more money that Crabbe. If it's Eric Gordon, I will be moderately thrilled as he's a better player than Crabbe who makes less money, but he's also older and injury prone. He is a clear upgrade in talent and would give us a go to scorer off the bench. He would definitely take some pressure of C.J. when Dame is not in the game, something Crabbe could never do. It may end up being someone else entirely. That's the thing about Olshey. He runs such a tight ship, you actually expect him to surprise you once or twice a year. It's kind of like getting a "surprise" birthday party every year on your birthday. You know something's coming, you just don't know what. BNM
I've not seen him as a starting SG for 20+ games in a row. I'll reserve my judgment until then. He's certainly good enough to start, even if for BKN. He's wanted by other teams, at least BKN. We lost a 30 MPG player who was one of the elite 3pt shooters in the NBA last season. There's no way this can be seen as a win for us on the court.
There's nobody on the Nets that commands a double team or can break down the defense consistently. He'll struggle since it's not like he's going to get more open looks there. He'll at least have the green light to fire away.
After his recent comments about everyone in the west getting better, I can't think he would be happy about this.
Agree with this. This move, in isolation, clearly makes us a worse team. But I don't believe this move was made in isolation - something else will happen in order to make up the ground lost.
It depends on what the large scheme is, I'm sure Dame is in the know of what is going on behind the scenes.
