What point guard then. Chris Paul. sure, if that happens great. Steve Nash maybe?

While merchandise sales are definitely valuable to an organization, I don't think it really helps us move closer to winning a championship.

My gut says Paul. If we're moving Miller for a trade exception, I think that's the next move. Either that, or another big name. I think Paul is definitely on the block, and I think talks will be revisited when the moratorium is lifted.

Rudy doesn't want to come back. How good will he really be for the team?

    he can't get much worse.

who cares if he doesn't want to come back. a 3rd tier PG isn't going to make that much of a difference.

That's not true. Instead of standing around and doing nothing, he could start jacking up shots from half court ;)

So what's the deal? Everything is kind of jumbled around in this thread.

I'm worried about him becoming a cancer or a distraction than his lackluster play.

meh, we'll deal with it when we get there. for now, its just a bunch of rampant Spanish media speculation. Rudy would be pretty awesome in Miami though. ya know with all those mexicans. :NOTMARIS:

Yep. As far as talent is concerned, Rudy the Portland TrailBlazer might as well be in a bodybag. He has unquestionably played his last game in a Blazer uniform.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a Darko-type career path for Rudy though. Last year at this time Darko wanted to go back to Europe but was obligated by contract to stay here. Got traded to Minnesota where he actually played very well -- found a Joel Pryzbilla type niche -- and found happiness. Signed a ludicrous contract to stay in Minny. I always felt bad for Darko. He was placed in the worst possible situation and never given a chance. In a draft with NBA-ready studs in Bron, Melo, Wade and Bosh, Darko needed time to develop like Chris Kaman, but Detroit was in Championship mode, not develop young prospects mode, and darko rotted. I'm happy for him.

As for Rudy. He's really been nothing but a soft, stubborn, whiny bitch here. I wish him nothing but unhappiness and disappointment and a career wallowing in obscurity. Disappointing that we could've had local stud Aaron Brooks.

Chalmers/Beasley would be a steal. I've always thought a change of scenery could do Beasley a lot of good.

Only an idiot would make this deal.

    Guess Miller's an idiot.

"Third tier"? On offense maybe - but he would be a clear upgrade on defense!

Cause Brandon doesn't like playing with him, and he doesn't fit in well with Nate's offensive philosophy

Well, with that kind of attitude on the team, we'll never win a ring.

Beasley has the same issue Roy has. He has problems playing off the ball. He is an ISO player.

Correct me if I am wrong but we did not ask Phoenix to draft Rudy, we bought him after they did. I guess technically we could have asked before they picked, but that is a stretch to say we could of had him.

Of course most fans were against drafting him AB saying he was too small. He reminded most of Damon.

I don't think Roy has problems playing off the ball... I think he has his comfort zone, and he doesn't like to play off the ball. He could actually be a very good off the ball shooting guard.

You don't buy that pick blindly without knowing who you're getting. That deal was agreed to WELL before Phoenix drafted Rudy, so rest assured he's the guy we wanted w/ that pick.

Phoenix wanted to sell the pick, we wanted Rudy.
