Unfortunately, I think the Bulls will hang on to Kirk like Grim Death no matter how much sense (a lot) this sort of trade makes
Hmm.. good point. When's the last time Chicago even had a low-post big-man threat? I see Curry averaged 16.1 ppg in 04-05, but the Bulls have never been a big-man team. Seem intent on finding an MJ and build around guards and small forwards.
Not since Artis Gilmore. Though, you win with what you have. When you have Jordan and Pippen, you're probably not going to build around a big man. Had they won the #1 or #2 pick in the 1984 draft, they would have built around Olajuwon or tried to build around Bowie.
Blake/Bayless/Mills Roy/Rudy G.Wallace/Batum/Webs LMA/Millsap/Pendergraph Oden/Pryz The PG comes at the trade deadline (if Bayless is not improving...or Mills not surprising us all!). Roy can slide over to PG. Go for Wallace - stop it with Deng and Hinrich! Yuk
Yeah.. Artis Gilmore, wow.. loonngg time. MJ's been gone for awhile though, and they've had Brand but traded him for a non-post player in Chandler. Had Curry.. and he had some decent statistical seasons but he never became a big threat. Chicago just never has seemed to be a big post-oriented team. It's like how Phoenix will never be either. The Suns will always be a fast-break team no matter who they got.
We're good enough at the point to win it all. What we need is lots of big uglies down low to dominate games. Millsap and Bass fit that mold.
@TheD_WhatUpDoe @teebeebee Deal was Booz to Det, Prince to Por, Trade Exception + Bayless to Utah. But it won't happen. Ricbucher
I don't like that. Maybe, I'm looking at this all wrong, but if we're going to help Utah out of their mess, I don't want to give up anymore than one asset, counting our cap space.
Good God ... if that truly was discussed, I sincerely hope we weren't the ones who threw the deal off. I love that deal so much I'd marry it. Prince in a Blazer uni? Hell yes. Wonder if the Pritch turned it down because he was concerned we wouldn't have a legit PG in summer league since Patty Mills broke his foot. LMAO.
We're not going to land Gerald. Charlotte seems pretty intent on keeping him. If there were to trade him we'd have to pay an arm and a leg. If Millsap isn't a chess move to land Kirk, I'd package Przybilla for Battier. I'm not a cap guru but is it possible to sign-and-trade for Josh Childress after we sign Millsap?
Actually, no, Sam...I noticed that the Bulls made out best in that Portland/Utah/Chicago idea. Carlos Boozer for Hinrich is a complete steal. Portland makes out okay, but not great...Hinrich for all of Portland's cap space is far from great.
