James Harden playing better? Are you serious? Or did you just watch last nights game and use that as his recent games?

Huh? Harden doesn't start and is shooting 40% from the field. Placing him ahead of Roy seems like a huge stretch, IMO.

James Hardin has been balling big time for OKC, and no it wasn't just because of last nights games. While I admit he has his rookie moments, the dude has been tearing it up. He is also very unselfish and a big finisher. He has easily surpassed Green as the #2 guy in OKC.

I am at the point that I'll say just about anyone, maybe an interim term coach and see who is available this summer. This staff has lost the players and refuse to change schemes that aren't working and play players that deserve it.They are a clusterfuk and I'll take anyone "decent" at this time.

No, I still want the playoffs and am paying a lot of money to watch a playoff-caliber team. I'm done with sitting around cheering for a bunch of rookies who play hard but not well. This team still has enough talent to compete and win enough games to make the postseason, and to expect anything less is silly.

Unless you are getting a known quantity at coach it is a crapshoot, and even then it doesn't work out sometimes. For instance, not even Larry Brown could save NY with the train wreck they had there. After all, one of the Blazer best coaches in history was an assistant out of nowhere. Basically what it comes down to:

    1. Continue with status quo and nothing changes and your chance of things changing is basically zero.

    2. Make a change and see if you can bring in some fresh ideas, fresh chemistry. Sometimes player play harder for a new coach because they have no standing with a new coach.

One thing I would like the Blazers to consider if not hiring a new coach, is to hire an offensive/defensive specialist to come in and work with the team. Remember when Pete Carril from Princeton came and and helped Adelman in Sacrmento? Or how Tex follows Phil Jackson around and teaches the system to his newest team? Or how Dick Harter was a defensive specialist? Like Thibidou is now in Boston? The Blazers have some great coaches to develope individiual play. But they have nobody that knows one side of the ball so well that they can help the team.

Okay, who do we play? What's the rotation? How many minutes does each player get?

I think the team I outlined can still make the playoffs, but as a #7 or #8 seed. I'm a season ticket holder, too. However, I want more banners, not a higher seed this year.

We'll agree to disagree. I want a plan, not a firing just for the sake of one.

What about when Rick Adelman was brought in. It was a very similar situation. Nobody saw him coming on board and being successful. Sometimes making change for the sake of one, can be exactly the recipe needed to right the ship. Besides, I believe Nates contract runs out this year anyhow.

Sometimes a change is necessary and good, the current "plan" IMO has disintegrated into chaos. That's my take

IIRC Mike Schuler had won coach of the year 18 months before he was fired.

Nate's job is far from safe.

Here is how I will put it. If somebody kicking you in the nutz, do you just sit there and let them just kick you in the nutz, or do you make a change? Right now every time I watch this team get coached by these coaches, I get kicked in the nutz. Its time for a change.

I think what the "change" argument people fail to realize from opposing viewpoints is this:

Sure, you may want to divorce your wife b/c she's running up credit card bills at a pace higher than you'd like, and doesn't seem to change. But if you divorce her, she gets half (lessening your worth) and your new girlfriend might Bobbitt-ize you in the middle of the night.

Suddenly, higher credit card bills doesn't look so bad.

This team isn't about you. I'm sorry for your pain.

This team has gone from 21 to 32 to 41 to 54 wins in the past four seasons. I think that earns Nate and the staff a little slack. They might actually have an idea what they're doing. Perhaps they're not moving as fast as we'd like them to in terms of giving certain players minutes, but I think they may see things we don't.
