Deron Williams sure is good though... Unfortunately for him, there was a once-in-a-generation point guard in his draft named Chris Paul.

Deron Williams and Roy are better comparisons in talent.

Chris Paul plays with an All Star and has his team at 41-23. Roy plays with a bunch of kids that are mostly in their early twenties. Only one of them has ever played in the playoffs. His starting SF has missed the entire season. His starting center has missed 19 games. And yet, Roy has willed us to a 41-24 record. Roy's season is much more impressive than Paul's in my opinion.

David West and LaMarcus are pretty comparable talents in my opinion -- West is a little more accomplished --it's not like Roy is saddled with a bunch of non-performers (whatever their age or experience).

Exactly what I was going to say

In fact, I'd say the Blazers are far more talented than the Hornets overall, so that argument is moot.

I'd definitely rather have the Blazers without Roy than the Hornets without Paul.

The reason the teams are so close in record is because of Paul. He's amazing. I think if you put him on the Kings, they'd contend for a playoff spot.

CP3 is not in that group. He just can't score with the other 3, and like Paul can't score in huge chunks on consistent basis, the other 3 can drop dimes pretty well..hell Bron and Wade seemingly get 7 a night. Paul is great, but those 3 are on a more elite level.

I don't agree Mas. Paul is one of those guys that makes everyone around him better. Sure, he isn't quite the scorer that Wade, Kobe, or LeBron are, but he is elite in passing and steals.

That's absurd. That's like saying Magic Johnson wasn't in a caliber with Larry Bird and Michael Jordan because "he didn't score like them but they could pass." The others can't make plays for other people like Paul can, and Paul is an elite scorer. The other three concentrate on scoring. If Paul concentrated on scoring, he'd have huge scoring games. Paul is the best distributor in the game and possesses elite scoring ability. He has as good a claim to second-best player in the game as anyone (James is clear-cut #1).

So it's cool that we have the division lead now.

Can anyone confirm the order of precedence for playoff seeding (and determining home court) when considering tie-breakers?

As per my recollection, it was, Overall record --> Head to head record --> division record --> conference record

If so, our relatively bad division and conference records might come into play.

    Division Records:
    -Portland: 6-5
    -Utah: 9-3
    -Denver: 9-3

    Conference Records:
    -San Antonio: 27-11
    -Houston: 27-12
    -New Orleans: 23-14
    -Portland: 21-19
    -Utah: 28-11
    -Denver: 25-14
    -Dallas: 22-19

Edit. Ha! I was just browsing OLive and saw ABM posted this: http://www.nba.com/features/seedingprimer07.html

Magic could ave 30 a night if he wanted too, it wasn't his game though. Magic is on a whole other level than Paul when it comes to play making, versatility, and size. I just don't think Paul could average that much if he wanted too. He's great but I would group the players like this:
    Tier 1:
    Bron Wade Kobe

    Tier 2:
    CP Dwight

    Tier 3
    Roy Deron Parker Duncan,etc

    That describes Paul well.

Size and versatility, sure. Magic was a better player than Paul, but Jordan and Bird were better than Wade and Kobe. So comparing Magic to Paul isn't the point.

    I'd order them:

    Tier 1:
    James, Paul, Kobe, Wade

    Tier 2:
    Howard, Roy, Williams, Duncan

    Tier 3:
    Lots of players

Bulls were up 24...I'm not sure they can keep up their hot shooting..Noah is garbage and can't finish around the hoop worth crap..Del Negro needs to keep Miller and Gordon in the game.

It would be a great day if Utah, New Orleans, Houston and Phoenix lost today

I notice you left Denver out. I guess Denver playing the Clippers at home is as close to a lock as it gets.
