Re: Przy re-injures his patella! When I had my ACL reconstruction a couple months ago taking a shower was definitely the hardest daily activity I had to do. It's probably one of the more likely places to aggravate an injury. Your exercises are so controlled and your thinking so much of how to protect the knee during those times that they are fairly safe. But during normal everyday actions you kind of forget your not 100%, it only takes a fraction of a second to move the wrong way and something tears.
Re: Przy re-injures his patella! I doubt it'd be advisable for many 7'1 guys who just underwent reconstructive knee surgery to take a bath.
Re: Przy re-injures his patella! Why? I would think it's safer than standing/balancing on wet tile. Edit - Never mind. I googled and answered my own question.
Re: Przy re-injures his patella! Could you explain? Because he could get an extra long tub? My friend slipped in the shower, landed on her arm and broke it. Had to get herself to the ER with busted arm. She said the hardest part was getting her bra on one handed.

Re: Przy re-injures his patella! I'm in the "cover up" camp. He probably tripped over Greg Oden's dick.
This is just throwing sand in our face after kicking us in the balls. When will the bad man stop hurting us?
This is probably going to force the Blazers into pushing Luxury Tax territory next season. With Joel getting injured again, there's no way that he doesn't exercise his option for another year with the Blazers. Since they won't be able to count on him playing for sure, they'll have to make a push to re-sign Camby and probably will have to overpay to do it since there are a lot of teams with cap space. According to Storyteller's site, the Blazers are committed to close to $60 million next season for 11 players. Add Camby, a first round pick, and a couple of cheap players and Paul Allen will be writing a check to the NBA next year.
It could be, I suppose, but I certainly don't see why some of you are jumping to this conclusion until we hear something from the doctors. It's certainly a major setback to the timetable for his recovery, but is there any information out there that says that the prognosis is any worse than the 6-8 month recovery projection that he had after his first surgery? Not that I've seen.
Joel wasn't a leaper but he was a quick jumper. This is what made him so effective on defense. Two patella tendon ruptures, he's going to be a liability on BOTH ends now. He gave us a lot of good years but I think Przybilla is done. If he does come back he's going to be a shell, unfortunately.
