Some are taking the whole "mock draft" thing too seriously. After pick #8, anything can happen.

Teams are "dumb" for taking a player higher than some mock draft says they should go, nor are they "smart" in the opposite case. There is a lot of info we don't know. Only a day or 2 ago, did we see that Bam can shoot and make NBA 3s, and that has changed a lot of our opinions (including me).

You said you weren't sold, specifically pointing out the 27" vert.

His numbers will go up. If it's the injuries, say you're not sold cuz the injuries.

I'd take a gamble in Giles at 20 or later (preferably 26, if he lasts that long), if I wasn't terrified of his medical records. Some dudes battle injuries in their teens and then don't after that. But in no way would I take him at 15.

Just a hunch. Feel like people are souring on his attitude and bust potential.

Just listened to Givony on Woj's podcast. They said top 6 seems fairly set in stone just the order could differ.

And Givony thinks the reason Frank is dropping is because of him not being available for workouts. Could go 8, but people haven't been able to gauge him up close as his team in France is still in the playoffs. Said MIA prolly won't draft him as Riley doesn't pick internationals. POR is an option as is CHI. He said Frank can play 1-3

Gobert's #s... I'm not saying Giles is THE answer but I'm not gonna knock this guy for his vert., other things... maybe but if he made it to 26 & we keep our pick... I'd roll the dice on him:wink: @ 20 I'd take him IF there weren't any better options/fit for us.

ps Gobert has 7" > Giles wingspan though:tongue2:
pps Giles max vert. is 32.5" :ygrin:

It's like a hurricane causing a flood. The injuries caused the 27 inch vert which makes me say no....

Giles and LMA have nearly identical verts. His athleticism isn't an issue.

So it's the injuries. Not the vertical. Several dudes have played with similar verts.

It's both. If the injuries didn't have an effect on his vert I would think differently. Also, I saw 27 as his max vert.

I think he is saying that it won't prevent him from being a good player.

Also, LMA was pretty athletic in his prime.

No he wasn't. Never a high jumper. Never really quick at all.. Sub par athleticism IMO.

Yeah, LA relied on his length. While I appreciated his ability to run the floor, he was a little mechanical at times and his hops never impressed me all that much.

Depends on your definition. He wasn't the biggest jumper but he could definitely get up. Moved his feet well for someone his size.

When you're long like LMA/Giles, you don't have to have the highest vertical.

I miss Rudy. He would have been so much better with Stotts.

Wasn't LMA near the top of the league in Dunks one season? This was with Camby/Miller/Rudy....
