I think a lot of it is that folks sorta get married to what boards like draftexpress say and don't think much more about it the - herd mentality, I believe DX had Maker buried in the 2nd rd early on and he came on strong late in draft process and was taken 10th, I hope we can use it to our advantage and nab him at 26, my guess is that he's going to move up a good bit but we'll see

Thx man, to be honest I've been doing a lot of draft reading and research at a lot of other places and a few guys mentioned him and I got very interested and started finding some links to get more info - I think he could be a great fit next to Nurk

Imagine if we came out of this draft with: Anigbogu | Anunoby | Bell

You couldn't contrast with what we have on the bench any more.

That's very true. Herd mentality is definitely a thing when it comes to mock drafts.

Sometimes I release mock drafts (with big board rankings included) on here and I try to make my own predictions and not follow herd mentality.

My top sleepers right now are Bolden, Patton, Wilson, Evans, and F.Jackson.

Overrated prospects are Rabb, Adebeyo, Anigbogu, Hartenstein, and Kennard.

I honestly think big school players become extremely overrated because of where they went to college. If Justin Patton went to Duke he'd be a surefire lottery pick.

I don't like Anigbogu. He has physical tools, but has shown no signs of having any offensive skills. I could see him being a Bismarck Biyombo type after 4 years of training. He's not worthy of a top 20 pick.

I really hope Jarrett Allen slips to 15, he looks like the best 5 in the draft from what I've seen.

We don't need a 5, and I don't think he and Nurkic can play together. Therefore I don't think he'll get much of a chance here.

Those are from Dame range. A fairly athletic guy who can block shots, rebound, switch out on the perimeter and stretch the floor. So where is the down side?

I watched a few games of his a while back but haven't revisited him since and honestly don't remember the thoughts I had about him but I'll probably watch more of him here soon.

His production vs Ferguson's shouldn't be much of a factor though. Differences in age and level of competition are significant.

Isn't the Adriatic league better than Aussie ball?

Bolden just looks like a much more complete player to me.

I may be wrong (I usually am), but Bolden seems like the kind of player that would get picked up as a late first or second rounder for the Spurs, or more recently, by the Bucks. Fans of every other team will spend the next 12 years wondering why their GM didn't draft him.

I can see that. Like you mentioned earlier, if he would have gone to Duke, UCLA, or UNC, he would probably be much higher in mock drafts. I'll admit that i have my hits and misses when it comes to the draft. I was big on Dame and CJ and was so happy when we selected them. Then again, I thought Sergey Monia might be our Ginobli. I feel pretty dumb about that one. I also thought Olidipo would be the best out of his draft. So, don't listen to me. Or do. You never know.

They are pretty equal just think the nbl has nba type physicality / defense, which matters even more when you consider the age difference.

Draftexpress has us setup for a pretty garbage draft with Anigbogu @15, Rabb @20 and Lydon @26. Thats about as bad as it gets.

Most their 1st round mock has me scratching my head.

For some reason Kyle Kuzma from Utah has climbed up NBAdraft.net's board from late 2nd rounder, to #16 to Chicago.

    Hmmm

    Motley is intriguing for sure.

I just worry about his IQ and his in traffic athleticism. He passed more this year but also turned it over more and overall, I think he might too much of a "style over substance" player who isn't good enough on either end to be a useful rotation big (inefficient offensively plus spacey/low energy defensively) but this might just be paralysis by analysis at this point.

He still could bring a lot of value if he can be decent both in space and at the rim defensively with a reduced offensive role as an efficient/dynamic pnr threat with stretch potential.
