I am back from the game and tried to pay close attention to Travis tonight. He did not force a thing, had the presence of mind to find an empty LaMarcus under the basket and while he was not a huge part of the offense today - when it was time to ice the game from the FT line - you just knew they were going in.

Another observation - Rudy's passes in the offense are as quick as his shot. He gets the ball and it is immediately moved to someone open. The kid certainly sees the game at a different speed than anyone else on the team - and this is not a team of slow, dumb players. He is just special.

Trout is a very good player, and the elevation on his shot makes him unstoppable. But Batum is going to be a fixture for this team for a long, long, long time. Some combo of Trout/Raef/Blake/Webster will land us a super SF or PG.

Scratch that. After working on the other thread, it now looks clear to me that even if a Gerald Wallace were available, it would not be a good deal considering we have Batum.

So Trout/Raef/Blake/Webster for a star PG?

^Why wouldn't we trade Sergio? He obviously isn't happy here (which is dissapointing but understandable). And honestly, he deserves better. I don't think he is as good as he thinks he is, and he obviously doesn't understand that one must earn minutes, but I think he is better than the 10mpg he is gettin', but he is on a stacked team where Bayless isn't even playing... I think at this point it can be better for both parties to part ways. If we are going to make a trade, i think Sergio would be included. I don't really think we will make a trade until the off-season though.

edit - bah, i don't want to trade Sergio though. I hope this works out somehow, i just don't see him getting minutes, and that won't make him happy. Best case scenerio he plays out his contract (so next year would be his last)...

maybe we should give Sergio a try w/ the starting unit and see how it goes? IDK though, i don't think he fits with the starters since he would be quite in-effective w/ Roy playing w/ the ball in his hands most of the time.

Personally I would trade Outlaw and Blake with Raef if it could get us a top third point guard. I think Webster and Batum are all we need for the small forward spot.

Would switching Martell in for Travis be a dealbreaker for the same top third PG? What about if it was Batum?

I would def. trade Webster and Outlaw before Batum.

But that would be an extremely hard decision if adding Batum or not is the deal breaker for a very good player. I hope it doesn't come to that, Webster/Outlaw should def. be enough for a team (i hope).

Why trade Outlaw? Why not keep Webster, Batum, AND Outlaw? Outlaw can play backup PF. Trade Frye.

    Travis with the big steal.

    Travis with the dagger.

I love Frye. I was defending him when people were complaining that he took long shots. I either defended him here or O-Live. Just because Frye will be the odd man out doesn't mean that I don't like him. Just because I love all 15 players doesn't mean they can all play.

So, others can feel Outlaw is the odd man out without being haters, right?

The stats tend to refute the overload of anti-Outlaw threads/posts here.

Unless I am missing all of the Frye-bashing threads?

Also, "others" who feel Outlaw is the odd man out keep losing on the results, so that has to be considered as well. Same with the accuracy of their opinions. ;)

You can feel all you want but Outlaw is clearly a better option than Frye.

Show me all of Frye's game winning shots.

The stats also tend to refute the overload of pro-Outlaw threads/posts here. He's an average starter (in terms of production) overall, which makes the amount of pro- and anti-Outlaw sentiment perplexing.

Outlaw isn't a starter. A "mod" should know this. :dunno:

That's why I said "in terms of production." I was speaking about the caliber of player he was, not his specific role on this team. In terms of demostrated ability, he's about an average starter level player.
