Honestly, I think he should be too, but don't get angry if a deal is not made because of his stubborness (sp?). I don't know yours, or others on this board very well so I don't know what your thoughts/opinions will be if no trade goes through (since I just joined not too long ago), however, if you or anyone are the type who will be upset than it would be because of KP's stuborness. Anyway, if Allen can pay A LOT to Darius he can take Nazr' contract in order to get a player who will help us a lot barring he stays healthy.

I guess I should say, even in the economy we are in right now. I know it was not bad like it is now when Allen was paying Miles, but I still think he doesn't mind it...

Chad Fords Live chat ...Blazer SF question answered

Ralphie Bristol CT: Who do you expect Portland to end up with at SF? It seems like its gonna be Wallace, Butler, Jefferson or Carter going by what your article says.

Chad Ford: (1:05 PM ET ) Sounds like their primary target is Gerald Wallace. The problem is that Charlotte wants them to take back Nazr Mohammed in any deal. Richard Jefferson is an easier get, but he's got a bigger salary, is older and isn't as good of a defender. I think Caron Butler is the best fit, but I'm not convinced Washington will let him go. Vince Carter is intriguing, but you have to worry about chemistry a bit with him. Bottom line, I think the Blazers will do a deal and I think it will be something that lands them Wallace or Jefferson.

gee i wonder who that ralphie guy in Bristol CT is????

I think we could at least match if we have his bird rights. I doubt he'll get a massive deal in free agency in the current economic climate.

    I'm getting antsy.....

The thought of landing any 3 of these SF's has me stoked. I'll be disappointed if we don't land any of them.

I have been at best 50-50 we should or do make a trade. I'm now in the camp we make a trade if it really is going to help us this year and in the future. I have just been thinking from the rumors coming out in the last day that maybe we will make a trade and it is closer to 75-90% now. I want someone that is a little stubborn as GM and not making bad trade after bad trade like some teams I'm not going to list.

Also I wouldn't be that upset if we didn't make a trade.

so what... I started speculating on Gerald Wallace almost a year back

whats the big deal about speculating about top players on other teams at positions of need?

Nazr is usually pretty productive wherever he goes, I don't know why we would be so reluctant to acquire him if it meant acquiring Wallace as well.

6.8 million is a lot to pay a 3rd string big man ... but I suppose there might be some team out there in need of a big man ... maybe we trade him on draft day?

Man.... it feels like the offseason again. Exciting times. Honestly, I'm not sure which I would take, between Butler and Wallcae, but I would just be happy with either at this point. I think I might be leaning more towards Wallace, and I would gladly take Nazr's contract and run. After next summer it won't matter anyway, whether we have one more big contract on our roster.

Butler would probably give us the extra scoring punch we so desperately need, but Wallace would make us a better defensive and rebounding team.

It seems to me that Butler would be just another jump shooter for us, but a good one at that. Wallace would be more of a slasher, which means he would get to the line more. Butler would be a legit All-Star, but Wallace could reach that level too.... man..... decisions, decisions. I'd hate to be KP

WE could be headed over the luxory cap. Which mean that 6 million a year doubles to 12 million. I am not saying don't do it, but for a third string center that is a lot.( It would be foolish to then trade Joel. Nazi can't stay healthy)

If we took his salary too then Charlotte should get nothing else in value. Channing and Ike. No more (+ REC)

It's not like taking back Mohammed instantly puts us 6 million over the luxury tax line; after all contracts have to match (more or less) meaning we send out as much salary as we take back which means give or take a million this year's salary is identical before and after the trade. Furthermore Darius comes off the books in 2010 before Lamarcus and Brandon's extensions kick in which frees up a further 9 million and in 2010-2011 Mohammed comes off the books so he's no longer on the books when Greg Oden's extension comes up.

It will be interesting to see if Wallace plays tonight. If a deal is in the works, I doubt he'll play.

Actually I think the opposite. Wouldn't KP want to see that he's game ready before pulling the trigger on something?

He pretty much rehashes everything that Chad Ford said, but he throws out the ever-popular cliche
Personally I think this is false, because I remember hearing rumors about the Telfair to Boston trade days before it happened, and at the time I thought it was a HORRIBLE trade for us... little did I know that we'd end up with Brandon Roy

I'm sure our team doctors can talk to their team doctors and get the scoop on his health. He busted up a rib/lung, not like he busted up an ankle/knee. The guy's gonna be ok.

Agreed. Unless they complete the deal late and are pending league approval I can't imagine them sitting a player because of a trade that might happen.

I realize that. i am just saying that it is a lot to ask for from Charlottes end. And if we do it, they should not be asking for anything else. (i.e young quality talent)

Who cares about Nazr's contract... it's an afterthought. We traded for Steve Francis and cut him for pete's sake.
