That 15% trade kicker represents a bonus of nearly $10 million ($9,975,000) . People questioned Harkless refusing to attempt a 3-pointer in the last three games to collect his half a million bonus. Do you really think Crabbe would leave nearly $10 million on the table? And really, by refusing a draft day trade, he'd just be postponing the inevitable. Come July 10, we can trade him anywhere we want without his permission.

I not going to pretend that I know Crabbe well enough to know whether he would leave that much money on the table or not. Especially when he is already making an obscene amount of money. Some players truly do like it here and wouldn't want to go to Chicago (as an example) and deal with the cold even for more money.

I will leave it all up to you all to speculate.

So, he nixes a deal to go to IND on June 22 for Paul George just so we can turn around and trade him to MIN, BRK or wherever the fuck we want on July 10? And trust me, if he invoked his no-trade clause to block a Paul George to POR trade, his days here would be numbered. He'd be gone by the start of training camp.

For real. NO decided to pay him $18M a year. If Crabbe repayed him by delaying an inevitable trade and turned down money and a better situation, man...

    I know, right?

How stupid would Allen Crabbe have to be to think his teammates wouldn't resent him and the hometown fans not boo him if he killed a PG13 to POR trade?

Think about, it. Dame, C.J. and Nurk all want to win. Adding PG13 gets them much closer, much sooner than any other realistic option. You don't think they would be pissed at Crabbe if he cock blocked their chance at being contenders? If he blocked that trade (assuming it's even possible), he would almost single-handedly kill any chance Dame or C.J. have to play for a contender during the prime of their careers.

Given the choice, he'd be very wise to take the extra $10 million and leave on good terms than to become despised by his teammates and the fans. Hell, he was willing to go to BRK last summer. He wouldn't have signed that offer sheet if he wasn't willing to play for them. If he's willing to play for BRK, why wouldn't he be willing to play for IND? Especially when it makes him $10 million richer?

    If I'm Indy, I want:
    3 picks, Vonleh, Harkless

    If I'm Portland, I want:
PG, trade the contract of Crabbe and/or Biebs.

So, with these conditions a trade might look like:
    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=le3pbc9
    with #15, #20, and a lottery protected 2019 1st rounder.

We also get a little cap relief.

#26 we draft Bell to make Bell, PG13's agent, and MM happy :)

I also remember an interview before training camp where he talked about being enamored with how he would have had a larger role in the Brooklyn offense and the starting role there

ESPN should make it so that picks can be traded in the trade machine. I mean, they have trade exceptions...

In free agency I want us to do this regardless if we land George or not. This is assuming BOS lands Gordon Hayward (edit).

NYK Gets: Crabbe, Napier, Future 2nd, BOS future 2nd.
    BOS Gets: 2018 RTS w/ POR, 2019 POR 1st
    POR Gets: O'Quinn, Crowder/Bradley, L.Thomas

We save money, give NYK two young pieces, picks, while taking on the $6M contract of Thomas. BOS clears rotation space, adds a pick, likely upgrades another.

    Lillard / Turner
    McCollum / George
    George / Crowder
    Young / Davis / Aminu
    Nurkic / O'Quinn

The defense on that bench though...

I also don't understand why we have to actually wait for a player to be tradeable to be able to trade him in an imaginary trade machine. We get it, some players can't be traded for a number of months after you sign them. I don't get why that has to carry over to your trade machine that fans use.

I doubt if BOS is even in the PG13 sweepstakes. They absolutely will not give up any of their lottery picks and will go hard after Gordon Hayward via free agency.

It's common knowledge I've been driving the Kyle O'Quinn bandwagon for many months. He's an under the radar, cheap big that rebounds and protects the paint.

I'd also love to add Jae Crowder.

We can lose Davis, or Aminu if it helps get us what we need.

Paul George isn't a SG. He's a SF that can play small ball PF. Add in O'Quinn, who can also play the 4 and we'd have the PF spot well covered.

It's common to make SW idiot proof.

In this case, that feature was specifically requested by Adam Silver as a time saving feature to prevent Vlade Divac from submitting all kinds of impossible trades to the league office for approval.

In imaginary dream world where we trade for Paul George, I would LOVE to add Jordan Bell. I really think his brand of defense and athleticism at the four would be ideal next to Nurk.

    Dame
    CJ
    George
    Bell
    Nurk

I haven't watched a ton of Bell. Does he have any outside shot at all?

There was a workout of him recently showing him draining threes from the corner. His form looked decent enough to believe he could be a threat.

    I meant Hayward.

I'd love George and Crowder. We could play George at the small-ball 4 and have Turner, Crowder, and George all on the court at the same time. That's 3 defenders with switchability of 1-4, and would still have 2 high level scorers and 3 shooters on the court with Dame or CJ at PG.

I love O'Quinn, I just like the idea of landing Crowder even more.

I still think my pipe dream summer would go:

Trade Crabbe/Harkless/picks for Paul George and Thad Young.

    Trade CJ for Jimmy Butler.

    Dame/Bazz
    Butler/Turner
    George/Aminu
    Young/Vonleh
    Nurk/Davis

That's a fuckin contender right there.
