So if we managed to trade our 3 picks and Turner for George, I think it'd still be a decent trade even if George left because we would get rid of Turner's contract and going into next summer we'd have Crabbe and Leonard's contracts as weights. However, they may play themselves into tradeable positions, and their contracts will be much easier to trade with two-years remaining. It's definitely feasible that we could trade away Crabbe and Leonard for free or only have to attach Harkless or a 1st with both of them. Davis and Aminu won't be hard to trade either.

Therefore, even if George left we could have a great amount of cap room (if we wait on resigning Nurkic till after our summer splash). We would have flexibility to rebound if George departed if we traded Turner to IND in a PG deal.

Interesting. Is it just because we've all resigned ourselves to the Warriors winning the conference for the next three years? I fail to see how anything else we could reasonably do with those picks would make us better than adding Love at PF would. Seems to me that he is a perfect fit in Stotts' offense.

I would probably do it. I'm not really a fan of draft picks.

I mean, i would do it. I would prefer leonard to go, they like bigs that can shoot, and you'd have to add another decently paid guy to make it work. I would probably do it if they wanted turner (dont see why they would) or crabbe too.

Love is an all star. Doubt we get one of those with using our picks. Not likely anytime soon anyways. And pf is definitely our weakest spot. Love just sucks at defense. But he seems to be open to playing for his hometown team and dude is talented. So i would like to see him in a blazers uniform at some point.

Indiana doesn't want Evan Turner. He was a disaster in IND. They traded Danny Granger for him and he was such a horrible fit they let him walk for nothing after 27 games. They could have re-signed him for $3.3 million at the time, but chose not to. To take him back now, now that he's making $17 million a year, as part of a package for their franchise player would make them look monumentally incompetent.

Make it our three first round picks, our lottery protected 2019 pick and Crabbe and they might think about it. Mention Evan Turner's name and they hang up.

We may have to add Harkless as well. Young, good and long contract.

Of course Kevin Love would be an instant upgrade for us at PF, it's our weakest position, but no way in hell do I trade three first round picks in a very deep draft for him.

He'll be 29 by the start of training camp. He does nothing to help us catch the Warriors on the way down. He's the same age as Durant and Curry. Trading three first round picks for Kevin Love does not expand our window, it makes it narrower.

With the highest scoring, worst defending backcourt in the league, the last thing we need is another 1-way player who does not play defense. As long as we're rolling with Dame and C.J. in the backcourt, we NEED 2-way players at the forward positions. Kevin Love is NOT a 2-way player. Adding Kevin Love to our current roster makes us HOU. We'd win more regular season games, but would still get rolled over in the playoffs.

We may not get a Kevin Love level offensive talent with one of our three first round picks, but we'll likely get three better defenders. If one of those three also becomes at least average offensively, we'll come out ahead - and MUCH younger.

Trading our picks for Paul George makes sense. PG13 is a 2-way player and a great wing defender. He is one of the few players in the league capable of doing a credible job defending LeBron James and Kevin Durant. He's also good enough offensively to make them work at the other end. He's also the same age as our current franchise player.

Trading our picks for Paul George makes sense. Trading our picks for Kevin Love does not.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Adding a four time all star, four time all defensive team small forward makes Harkless totally expendable.

It wouldn't surprise me if George ends up on the Cavs with LeBron.

read a mock draft this morning on a yahoo link that projects Portland to trade all 3 picks to Orlando for Vucevic and the #6 pick which they say we'd use to get the 7ft 3pt shooter from Finland.....the author compares him to a young Dirk.

I didn't write it.....I want us to draft Bell for defense myself. I think Vucevic and Nurk would pair up really well though. I like Vucevic a lot. The Finnish 7fter from Arizona I know nothing about but the author says he's got incredible range and handles...passes really well. People didn't think Durant would be a good defender....skinny guy himself..he has improved...to me if we don't want to be the worst defense we need a defensive coordinator first and foremost

In today's game you need 3pt shooting. We need a SF who is a real threat from deep and we need a PF who can pick and pop and rebound.

This one? In that mock Isaac goes 7th, I'd totally take him over the guy it has us taking.

yeah, that was the article....the guy who wrote it is convinced Markkanen is going to be a superstar...but the Blazers could very well draft another guy with the #6 pick..I'm a real fan of Vucevic and think he'd compliment Nurk at the 4. You want more defense you bring Vonleh or Aminu off the bench...you want more rebounds and pts....you put Vucevic in.

Vucevic is not a 4, never ever. He is brutally slow laterally, could never guard any power forwards.

And if we trade all our picks for markkanen while passing on Isaac, I'll burn down the moda center.
