Watching Meyers wind up for a shot puts me in mind of an oil tanker doing three point turns in a harbor -- pull up a seat, pour a drink and settle in, 'cause we're gonna be here awhile. As for Meyers "deserving" more opportunities than Collins or Vonleh. With his shit-tier defense he gives away as much as he produces and every minute he's on the court is another minute Collins isn't getting settled in and developing, especially when practice time is so limited during the long slog of the season. Meyers had his chances for the past six years, it hasn't happened, it's never gonna happen, and it's time to move on. Best of luck to 'nards in his next career as an Instagram bicep model.
Wait, were you referring to Meyers or CJ? Tough to tell just from that part of the post. Beal 50, Harden 48, Crawford 16 points in 1 quarter.....all being defended for the most part by our resident SG. Either that, or it got so bad we had to hide him somewhere else. CJ can score by like Nards, he is giving up as much or more on many nights.
There are 4 Blazers that currently have a negative +/-, Biebs is one of those: https://www.foxsports.com/nba/portland-trail-blazers-team-stats?season=2017&category=MISC&time=0 The others are Swanigan, Harkless, and Turner.
When one guy scores that much you blame the whole team (the coach mainly IMO), not just the player guarding him. How good are we at playing help? How good are we at showing on screens? Are we forcing him into the direction we want but the help comes late? It's a team effort.
Of course it is a team effort. It's just sad how often the team has to help out on CJ's man. Not just over their individual averages.....in some cases almost double or more.
Some part of me (the part that sees a car accident and can't look away) wants to see an epic Meyers Leonard vs. Thomas Robinson debate between @swish3 and @Blazer4ever. Ultimately, it would be decided by a game of 1-on-1 between the two players. I don't normally do the pay-per-view thing, but that's something I'd pay to watch. BNM
