I admit I wasn't able to watch much of the pre-season, and I didn't get to watch tonight. But I'll keep an eye out for them.
This is good news, if Meyers doesn't improve at all this season they won't be stuck with that contract for years trying to trade him like OKC with Kanter.
Meyers is better out of the high post as of now but Vonleh is much better off the dribble although he doesn't do it often.
I thought it was a dumb move on their part. With Durant and Westbrook, why pay the max to a no defense center? He's only playing 20 minutes a game. Now what are they doing to do when a team offers Steven Adams a huge contract?
Yes; I want to believe Neil's master plan is Adams or Ibaka. Heck even Mitch McGary could be useful. So glad we don't have Kanter.
I don't think it likely he plays as horribly as he has so far, but I think it more likely he's simply meh for the season which makes him a average bench player at best
Not probable but certainly very possible. He'll make a 15 man roster. But if he doesn't shoot good three's he's not worth any NBA team putting him on the floor. I could see him only getting $1-2 million offers next season. If so not agreeing to a $6mil a yr extension yesterday could cost him $20 million. He's betting on himself but that's a hell of a big risk with so much life changing money at stake.
I would be shocked if Neil offered Meyers that same $11mil per year. Neil loves cap flexibility. Ross has what a 50 point game on his resume? He's a superior defender and young too.
