<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[quoteright][IMG] [IMG][/quoteright] Udonis Haslem and Dwyane Wade went to work in the final two minutes Wednesday to preserve a 99-93 Miami win at Atlanta. After Haslem's jumper at the 1:30 mark gave the Heat a 94-91 lead, Wade sank two free throws with 1:01 left and added a bucket with 25.7 seconds remaining to seal it. Wade and Haslem finished with nine and eight Nestl? Crunch Time points, respectively.</div>

Haslem finally earning respect as a clutch player.

Btw Damon Jones, Shaq, Wade, Haslem, and Eddie Jones are all in the Crunch Time Top 15.

I don't think Portland is too good even though that was a loss, and I know we played Dallas and Spurs, but those were losses, so was Minnesotta, Utah is also on a slump, and that was a reall close game. I'd like to see a Suns matchup though.

I don't think any East teams can really touch the Heat right now, obviously their will be losses, but generally most of those games should be wins wheter close or in a blowout.

Seattle, Phoenix, and another SA, Minny and Dallas matchup.

Ya that loss to Portland is inexcusable. I still dont get though how the Sonics are doing so well this year. I think its because of the lack of perimeter defending in the league. We need some Ron Artest on those Sonics. (defense not ass whipping lol).

Dallas: WE played a horrible game , they out played us in every way.
Minnesota: I beleive Wade was injured
    Spurs: Wade injured

This Piston game tomorrow should be ours, they are withotu Big BEn and without him they are in some deep shit, especially losing to the Bobcats. We have to claim our title of the Best in the East tomorrow.

Miami claiming they are the best in the east in november is like Seattle claiming they are the best in the west, It's foolish.

Use 82 games for better crunch time stats, but in the end of the year the Nestle Crunch time actually works out nicely in terms of players clutch abilities.

Umm...ok w/e realdeal....what you consider clutch is landing a buzzer beater...what they consider clutch is getting your work done in the last two minutes of the game and winning the game...Maybe because Kobe isn't in this category you don't acknowledge it's integrity?

I think someone hasn't gotten over their favorite team's recent losses :-)

Tru about the 82 games but remember Miami is one of the few (4?) teams that have played the most games so far this season. UD, Shaq, and Wade are proven clutch. DJ and EJ are the ones who have to earn their right to stay in this stat category.

Has nothing to do with that, just because Miami has a very good record now while Detroit hasn't, doesn't mean they are the best team in the east.

And yet again, another time Kobe is brought up...

What I'm saying...back when people knew what clutch was, it was Jordan, Bird, Miller, Magic...guys who took control of the 4th quarter, either keeping the team in the game or bringing them back into it, and either hitting the game winner or some spectacular shot to seal the victory. That's clutch.

Reggie wasn't considered clutch for one shot. Jordan wasn't either. Neither was Bird. Until some of those guys prove to me that they are really clutch and can be consistent at it, then I don't put them in the same category as those that are.

The thing is...you said that Haslem is finally earning respect as a clutch player. WHEN has Haslem ever been considered clutch? If five Heat players are in the top 15 clutch players in the league, they should be unstoppable.

When this season is over...there may be one guy from the Heat that's considered clutch...and it'll more than likely be Dwyane Wade...but there's no chance I'd consider Damon Jones, Eddie Jones, Shaq, or Haslem clutch...especially all 4 at the same time.

I don't think that Miami is the best in the East best but the comment was uncalled for especially considering that Miami and Detroit are rivalry teams.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">What I'm saying...back when people knew what clutch was, it was Jordan, Bird, Miller, Magic...guys who took control of the 4th quarter, either keeping the team in the game or bringing them back into it, and either hitting the game winner or some spectacular shot to seal the victory. Exactly what the Crunch Time stat is all about. EJ, DJ, UD, DW, and Shaq had all made big plays in the end of the games to help the Heat to a victory. Just because you don't consider them clutch doesn't mean they haven't stepped up and made clutch plays. MJ, Bird, Magic, and all the great players would've hit up the Crunch Time Stat because of the forumla.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nestle Crunch Time Stat was designed by the NBA and Nestle to provide an innovative way to measure "Crunch Time" performances -- <u>players who step up when the game is on the line!</u> A formula has been created to measure the top Nestle Crunch Time players, and the formula kicks in when Crunch Time kicks in -- the last two minutes and all overtime periods.

    Here's the formula:

    (PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO) + 4 points if their team wins

Note: If the point differential of the game is greater than 15 points at the two-minute mark, only the losing team's players will be eligible to earn Crunch Time points.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Reggie wasn't considered clutch for one shot. Jordan wasn't either. Neither was Bird. Well, they don't have to prove to you that they are clutch because you don't acknowledge what you don't want to hear . Because your a Kobe and Lakers fan, you hate Shaq, you want to see the Heat fail miserably, etc your opinion on the Heat loses validity.

I'm not saying to compare them to the great players, I'm saying they step up in the clutch and make big plays.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">And yet again, another time Kobe is brought up...</div>
The only reason I brought up Kobe is because he is considered the #1 clutch player and that he isn't mentioned in the Crunch Time stat then his fans might not acknowledge it's integrity and downplay it. Im sure that if Kobe was in this stat category you would believe this category holds value.

I don't consider the Nestle Crunch Time list valid anyways, unless it was 40 or more games into the season.

You said that Haslem is finally being recognized for being clutch...when the guy has really done nothing to earn it. If, in 40 games, he's been the go-to guy in the 4th, in the final minutes, and has been putting the Heat over other teams...hell, I'll recognize him as clutch.

Just because I hate Shaq doesn't mean I won't speak the truth about something. I've admitted that Wade is playing great...but that doesn't put him as a Top 5 player in the league, either. I'll admit that the Heat have a good record, but that doesn't mean that they are going to win a championship.

Haslem and those other Heat players may be clutch in a few games this season, but that doesn't put them in the Top 15 clutch players in the league. Do you believe they'll be on that list by the end of the year? Not a chance. If Kobe, Odom, Mihm, Walton and Butler were on the list, I'd be shocked...and I'd say it was ignorant. Clutch players don't come by easily...in fact, there aren't really 15 I can think of in the league at this moment.

Just think of it this way...by March, when someone says, "Name the Top 15 clutch players"...will Damon, Eddie, Shaq, Wade and Haslem all be mentioned? No.

The ones that will...will more than likely be guys like Kobe, Wade, Francis, possibly Iverson, Ray Allen...those will probably be the clutch players.

Well i hate to but this time i would have to agree with realdeal. I think the players mentioned above have played great in the late 4th quarter but i don't think we can yet call them "clutch" players. not just yet. It's too early to tell anything.

What is this nonsense, are you serious?

Where's Milt Palacio, you put all these secondary clutch players and don't include Milt Palacio, I just don't know what to say about this.

Geez...sorry. But if I add Milt, then you have to consider Matt Freije, who hit like 3 three-pointers in the final 9 seconds of a Hornets game (according to NBA.com).

Yeah, I mean, how could you leave out Milt "Drive to the hoop and throw a no-look shot" Palicio out when comparing clutchness.

Well, record-wise, they are the best team. Chemistry and team wise, it's really too early to tell but the Pistons have not come out the way people expect the defending champs too. I know they have been having problems off the court from Larry Brown's situation to Ben Wallace's but these Pistons are being outplayed on a consistent basis some games.

Would you consider the Sonics the best west team then? the same applies. Miami are very good and have a stud in Dwyane Wade but It's too early to make judgements that certain teams are the best team in either conference. As for the Pistons, there have only been two games where the whole roster has played togeather. The season home opener v Houston and the road game @ Toronto. Thats It, until they get heathly they will continue to struggle. Oh the fact the defense has been terrible is a big reason why Detroit are losing games as well.

You've dissapointed me in not being able to recognize one of the best in the league, next you're going to tell me you forgot to add Brian Scalabrine to your list of possible MVP's [IMG]
