So, ya haven't been paying close attention have ya? Abbot's claim seems true, otherwise Goodwin would sue him, that means that this debacle was A) planned, and B) basically in the infancy or before Cronin's reign so he is by definition not to blame. Goodwin at a minimum, the most scumbag bush league agent in the league. That's really not debatable actually. The thing is...Dame hasn't fired him. That combined with the Abbot report is pretty damning. Sounds like you're making excuses for Dame, not the rest of us being incorrect about the failings of the Olshey FO (we pretty much ALL agree on that). Cronin's reign has been mixed, but trending positive. The people supporting Dame in forcing his way out into Riley's waiting arms for chump change clearly are in denial about Dame's behavior.

So glad the, "get it done already" folks are nowhere near the decision making center of the team.

Side note: It's funny to me how many are in this camp, and also think Dame is blameless and the FO failed to get good deals done. Not saying you are among them Propagandist, but there is a lot of overlap between the "get it done already "folks, the Dame/Goodwin apologists and, the "our FO can't win a trade!" folks.

Like what? Rush the most important trade in a quarter century (Drexler), and simultaneously ya'll think Cronin is a failure for not landing a star next to Dame when it's pretty clear no such trade existed?!?!?

I just want it to be simple. Nurk and Dame going out. Lowry, Jovic, Jaquez the Heat's FRPs 2024, 26 and 30 coming to us from them. A first rounder and expiring contracts or young players (24 or younger) coming to us from a third team for Herro. That's it!

Edit: Actually I would forgo a pick if Orlando has serious interest in Herro and would be willing to part with Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Harris for him.

I think having vets like Harris and Lowry to begin the season would be great to teach our young guards. Then if contending teams wanted them at the deadline, they might bring back some more young talent.

    Edit again:

    Bucks choked
    Knicks LOL
Celtics fought back a little, then choked.
Lillard to Miami is no superteam, let's gut their roster and make their future 1sts exceptionally valuable.

Honestly if we give them hope with Jimmy and Dame being their franchise cornerstones at 33, those picks in 2028 and 2030 could be very valuable. Them having to give up Herro, Jaquez, Jovic and every first they can trade, does potentially gut their future.

I am not in the get it done just to get it done club.

I just figure, the longer we wait, the more boring everything will get, and the likelihood of having to listen to Joe explain why he couldn’t get a good deal will go up, and because while I love(d) Dame, he is paid a god awful amount and is getting old and at some point everyone will realize this and we will have missed the opportunity to cash in.

The gap between the package now and the worst possible package later is probably not that large, tbh—a risk worth taking.

Abbott OMG -- he might be the biggest tool of them all in the media ( outside of S. A. Smith ) if that is who you want to base your argument around then you are wrong just on that alone and nothing more needs to be said -- ROFL

He has yet to be right and he claimed Dame wanted out a year or two ago and that was proven to be horse crap so sure let's believe him and if you want to do that I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Iowa dirt cheap too -- -LOL

    What?

Goodwin told Abbott two years ago about Dame wanting out. Do you really think Dame just decided this year was the time to leave and he didn't consider it the last two off seasons?

Why hasn't Goodwin sued him for defamation? Do you understand that there are laws against outright lies that defame someone? Probably not since you don't even know how to hit reply. Abbot probably jumped the gun last summer based on the Goodwin conversation he has now publicly revealed. Last summer was speculation with him claiming a source, this summer he has stated he has a source who said something very specific. The former is bad guessing, and viable free speech, the latter is something that can bring a defamation lawsuit.

The truth is we do not know the truth it's possible the agent might have been running his mouth on the side . it's possible maybe Dame was more unhappy then he let on to the media so not to be the bad guy and it could be that I am right that this front office lied too --- It's possible this has been more of a mess in the behind the scenes then we ever will know or not find out until a few years down the line. The one thing I do believe in most cases is that the truth is somewhere in the middle of everything and that is annoying cause in the end all this is doing is dividing this fanbase. I mean let's be real this forum can get a little rowdy at times but let's be real since this whole Dame thing has started it's like a uncivil war between fans. I know I have been an A-hole at times and I know others have done things to try and provoke the fanbase too.

I have already accepted Dame is all but gone and it kills me to see this happen as this should not have happened and I blame Jody , NeO , Vulcan and Cronin with a little Blame on Dame as I think he should have stood up to these clowns sooner before it got to this point. I will say as much as I love Dame I wonder if he put his need to NOT be the badguy like LeBron and others who forced certain bad choices from front offices reacting to there needs , desires etc that ended up hurting those teams. I will say it again we will not know the truth until Dame has retired and /or Jody sells this team and even then we might never know.

This place was more uncivil the past few years. Most of us are on board with moving forward with Scoot, Sharpe and pieces we get from Dame. It is really only a handful of people sniffling in the corner unable to acknowledge where we are at.

What did LeBron ever do that was wrong? He’s never asked for a trade or even threatened to. And yes, he strong armed the AD trade but that was a good trade for both teams.

Didn't Lebron more or less demand Spoelstra be fired and Pat told him to go FO?

I think it was more like he didn't respect Spoelstra until Wade told him that he should.

I never really said anyone did anything wrong but there is a perception right or wrong that stars like LeBron used his power to manipulate things like get certain trades done , signings , get a coach hired and/or fired etc
