Because the people who didn’t think Dame would ever leave have come back around full circle to thinking Dame won’t ever leave.
In regards to Dame: I don't know if it's today, right before training camp or by the trade deadline at the latest but if Scoot is here...
The only thing that matters for a Dame trade is what the Trail Blazers get in return. There will be no Dame trade if the offer from Miami (0r another team) doesn't improve.
It's kind of like the dudes that have always wanted to trade Dame for the last three years seem to think that they know for a fact that he will be traded. I think it would have already been done but what do i know
This is a bad look, it's hilarious actually that you're telling people to think and couldn't get the image that tells them to on your post. Next time...
Obviously that's the only thing that matters to us as Blazers fans. I don't give a fuck who offers the most either. I don't think a team where he would truly be unhappy would make the best offer but I think we could see teams that had way better records than Miami did last season give us the best offer after the season starts or sooner. We'll have to wait and see but I agree with you that now Cronin's only job is to get the best assets possible when he eventually trade's Dame or he could do something drastic that would convince Dame to stay. I think that's very unlikely but it is one way (if we want to try and win now) to maximize Dame's value.
He asked for a trade. Almost always when a player asks for a trade, they are accommodated. What am I missing?
He asked to be traded to only one team. If Miami believes they have no competition, they will lowball us. Cronin cannot accept a lowball offer for Dame just to get it over with
All of that is irrelevant. There’s a reason that Dame asked for a trade and that reason still is there.
Are you saying that you expect the Trail Blazers to accept a lowball offer from Miami? How are those statements irrelevant? They seem to describe why a trade hasn't already been completed. What is your explanation for the trade not already happening?
Why hasn't Dame been traded to Miami already? Cronin said he will consider the team's needs along with Dame's preferences. What happens if the team's needs aren't met? Does a trade happen anyway?
Yeah. Then this happened. “Recent media reports stated that Damian Lillard's agent, Aaron Goodwin, called multiple NBA teams to warn them against trading for Lillard because Lillard's only desired trade destination is Miami." July 28, 2023 Although "all involved parties were found to be in good standing after the NBA looked into their actions" Joe might have then decided there's no way Dame's going to Miami for anything less than full price. https://www.wfxrtv.com/sports/sport...tated that, desired trade destination is Miami.
You got me!! Keep writing novels about why Dame deserves to be traded to a contender and why the Blazers did him so dirty.
Maybe he will. Maybe the process has shown all sides that Dame is better off here. Hasn't happened yet so until it does, there's a chance things change.
