I would expect Simmons to be moved. But is he really a cancer in the locker room? I don't know the answer, but I thought he was only a problem when he refused to show up.
When he plays, is he a problem with his teammates?

I don’t see anyway around getting a young Center prospect back somehow, I think that will happen.

Well done. Takes into account a lot of aspects and finally gets us out of that onerous trade deficit we had left over from Olshey. Would that be the largest TPE in NBA history?

That is projected to be the next 'good' Draft. Imagine adding a piece like that to the early 20's Slash Bros!

Who are the options besides Claxton? I have not heard any other names and I don't think the Nets are giving him up unless it is for Dame

I think Herro is a little better, and he's taller and younger. But he's 4M/year more expensive

I wish people would stop penciling in Miami's 2024 1st round pick coming to Portland. They can't trade the damn thing. It's not a trade asset

Yeah, Miami can only trade their FRPs starting in 2028. So the most we could get from them would be 2028 and 2030.

Miami already agreed to trade Victor Oladipo to OKC, who they owe their 2025 1st round pick to (protected in 2025, unprotected in 2026). It's likely that Miami can get OKC to agree to simply make it a protected 2026 1st round pick or an uprotected 2024 1st round pick with the 2026 MIA 1st going to Portland).

    IMHO :

POR gets package centered around Duncan Robinson, Jovic, expirings, and whatever picks they can muster. It won't be a very good haul. Robinson plays no defense though he can shoot alright.

The key to a Heat trade is how you can spin Herro to get more assets if you cannot do that then trading Dame to the Heat is a little harder to swallow cause your prolly only getting 70 to 75% of Dame's value back.

Ok so I have seen quite a few potential trades from Miami, and what I don't understand is why we wouldn't demand Caleb Martin and Jaquez as well?

To me, Miami has to send out these assets in addition to whatever we can get for Herro,

    Jovic
    Martin
    Jaquez Jr
    2028 FRP
    2030 FRP

Then whatever we can get for Herro on top of that. Otherwise Miami is making out like a fucking bandit.

Boost that to 5 picks and 3+ Of those players and Im with you. Also, make sure Miami has to pay ALOT. They can keep Bam and Butler but if they balk at sending out Martin for us to get value from a third partner then can suck it.

I love it. The thought process. The depth of the Heat’s pain and also us getting a monster return for Dame and dumping Nurkic. A beautiful post. I regret I have but one like to give. *doff my hat to you*

Balking at sending out a guy who has been a bench player most of his career for a guy who will instantly make them a favorite to win the NBA title.....sillyness.

As in Jovic, Herro, and 2 distant 1s is enough value?
