Before you crown the Heat champions for the next 5-6 years, I am sure Boston/Chicago and Orlando will have something to say about it. I think these three TEAMS will be pretty good for awhile, except maybe Boston who are getting old fast. IF, I say IF...Portland can stay healthy (that means you Oden), we at least have a shot at getting to the finals and seeing what happens.
IIRC, to help keep veterans in the league, what a veteran is actually paid and what they count on the cap are two different things. I think you can pay a vet close to $800K and it roughly counts $450K on your cap. Hell, where is Storyteller when you need him?
For all the talk of LeBron, Wade and Bosh leaving money on the table, it's going to be made up for in endorsements. The guy really making the sacrifice is Mike Miller. That guy had a 5 year/$50MM deal from NY and is taking a 5 year/$27MM deal in MIA instead. He stands no chance in making up that money.
