I take Allen just because he can stretch the defense more so then Redd. Redd is a great player, but he is streaky from time to time. He can also dig a hole for his team because even when he doesn't make his shots, he will still keep shooting. I like Redd, but Allen is a better player.
Being able to watch the both in their prime in Buck uniforms I will say Ray Ray is better. He just seems so much more dynamic and less streaky when he played for us. He really seemed to me like he was a type of player you could build a team around while Redd appears like he would be a perfect addition on the side of an All-NBA player.
Allen. Hes just a cold blooded motherfucker. I think hes the only player I can remember where before Sonics-Warriors games I'd be distraught because I knew that he was going to just rape us and there was nothing we could do about it. Sucked to see him poorly used in Boston this year but he did do well in the finals. Dude is clutch as hell. Just an ace.
Michael Redd is definitely one of the best shooters in the NBA but Ray Allen is THE best. Allen's mentality is also vastly more experienced and tolerant as compared to Redd. Both are great shooters, yet Ray Allen is able to better distinguish when and where his shots are supposed to be launched.
