There is no reason to keep the war going. Biden gains nothing from it.

AIPAC. That's why all three leading candidates sound exactly the same on this issue. JFK wanted them to register as foreign agents for a reason.

Daddy Bibi has a problem so Genocide Joe has to go along with it.

Mark my words, our relationship with Israel might not end tomorrow, but it will fundamentally change in the coming years.

If they don't change their ways it will have to.

Nah. If they get rid of Netanyahu (haven't they already voted him out several times?) it can be salvaged.

Bibi will never change his ways as long as Joe is sending him weaponry. You can't force change, while aiding the very person, that you want to force change upon. It simply just doesn't work that way. Besides, Biden is the most pro-Israel president America has ever had. No matter what Biden's words are in the media about "lines Netanyahu can't cross". Biden continuing to arm Israel, already shows his... unwavering support for whatever Netanyahu wants to do in Gaza.War crimes included.

To believe we need to change Bibi, and yet not see that Biden is his getaway driver, then proceed to let Biden off the hook for what Netanyahu is doing, is exactly what our mainstream media is doing. In the end, Biden gets a free pass for helping Bibi to commit war crimes.

You seem to be driving on both sides of the street here. Arguing that we can't turn our backs on Netanyahu, as well as arguing that there is no reason for the war to continue. That seems to be a mixed message sir.

Maybe people should decide which is more important. Saving America's democracy, or saving Israel's democracy... at the expense of our own.

Personally, after four years of Trump, the risks are far too great for Biden to keep this war going.

I'm assuming you're responding to ne. However I've not once said we can't turn our backs on Netanyahu or that we should support him. Rather, we need to keep up relations with Israel for the stability of the world.

If the US were to cut Israel off we would lose vast influence in a major region of the world.

I don't think we need to change Netanyahu. I think Israel has voted him out and he should be removed. Refusing to support the people of Israel simply because their leader is committing crimes isn't logical if the US wants to maintain leverage in the region. And I think we must maintain leverage in the region for the stability of the world.

But the US can't force these changes alone or the next leader of Israel may not be considered legitimate. It will take removing power and support while still supporting Israel's right to exist.

Again, it's complicated. Which is why I have suggested that the US take a larger humanitarian role in helping Gaza, and to make that commitment for decades.

We need to win hearts and minds in that region, IMO. We can't do that by opposing either Palestinians or Israelis.

We can do it with diplomacy and humanitarian aid.

I have an old friend from my gym thats from Beirut, he's been here for 30 years and he's in his early 80's now. His take is that Iranian Shia Mullahs with their proxies are the main reason for the issues in the the Arab world and Israel. Even the Lebanese people dont want Hezbollah holding them captive. His view is that most the Arab States wants peace with Israel and feels they have the right to exist. The Abraham accords is a positive step in developing alliances in the Arab region for prosperity and helping people in all aspects of life. The need for a coalition of US/and several Arab countries need to be key in rebuilding GAZA. He does think its inevitable that Hezbollah will need to be dealt with hopefully through negotiations diplomacy as Lebanon would be part of the plan to help develop a better life and relationship within the region.

100% agree, though I don't have near the personal experience. But from everything I've seen this is spot on. The Iranian Shia Mullahs with their proxies depend on us making knee jerk reactions and being emotional. When we do that they are successful.

We must be more level-headed when dealing with them and not allow them to play us and our allies against each other. Because no matter how bad it is now, it would be worse if we pulled out. Whereas if we maintain good relations with our allies and help them to be less reactionary we can actually help the region obtain peace and prosperity if we choose to do so.

When the boomer demographic relinquishes control, things will change drastically. I think many of the world’s powerful know this and are basically cashing in their chips at this point. It’s why corruption is so blatant now, they simply don’t even care to try and hide it anymore. The building is being looted while it burns.

Biden Condemned for Ahistorical and 'Politically Suicidal' Attack on Campus Protests

"Biden's claim that 'dissent must never lead to disorder' defies American history, from the Boston Tea Party to the tactics that civil rights activists, Vietnam War protesters, and anti-apartheid activists used to confront injustice."

I think pretty clearly we are the biggest reason for all the instability in the world. From the Middle East, to South America, to America itself.

The defense contractors LOVE when you talk like this.

There is nothing wrong with protesting.

But trashing the library is bullshit, those involved should be expelled and arrested.

Really? I think world war I and world war II were worse... And since then, with the US protecting shipping lanes and encouraging globalization things have been much better. You can actually look at death rates, life spans, and the happiness index and see how much better off things have been since then.

Biden not making emotional knee-jerk reactions is an encouraging development.

Just because something is good for defense contractors doesn't necessarily mean it's the wrong decision. Of course, that certainly also doesn't mean it's the right decision either.

Oh brother... really? You should take a look at the U.S. involvement in Latin America and the Middle East. That alone will tell you otherwise. They have overturned democratically elected leaders and funded coups all around the world. Those nations are considerably worse protecting the interests of American corporations. It's horrendous. I wish we taught this stuff in schools nationwide.

My guess is most of the protesters aren't actually PSU students.
