+1. From the sound of the article it's Portland that needs to up the ante. Outlaw for Conley would be a steal for Memphis at this point, but if we do get Conley we need to trade either Sergio or Blake unless we just plan on keeping Conley to be Greg's best bud. Mikey would be the highest paid entourage member in Oden's clan.

If Oden is to become the star we think he can be, he shouldn't need Conley to get in his face. That's what Roy is for.

I used to be a huge Conley guy, but he just isn't doing anything. I'd rather see Bayless play.

I don't like the Conley trade either but will wait this time until we see how it works before complaining very much. I rememeber at first I was really upset with the Zach trade but now think it worked out great for us.

Bibby is washed up. I'd rather get Conley as he at least has some upside. However, I don't want to give up Sergio. This is especially the case if we're doing this solely to reach out to Oden.

Tortimer -- I agree with you. If it happens, I will reserve judgment. It just seems like a risky move to me and I think you could get a lot more than Conley for Outlaw. Maybe they are interested in Conley, but are leaking this story to hopefully increase the interest in Outlaw.:dunno:

Why do we need our PG's to have a consistent spot-up 3pt game? We have too many jumpshooters as it is. I'd rather have Sergio's playmaking abilities over Blakes no defense, spot-up jumpshooting. Plus the Rudy factor is there with Sergio.

I would have been in favor of this last year, but the way Conley has played this year makes me VERY wary....

i actually think conley needs oden more than oden needs conley. and that conley will rise to top form around oden again.

I like the deal and think it is decent. But it seems more like a horizontal move than anything

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Ugh. I don't like Conley at all. I wouldn't be at all excited about giving up Outlaw for him. I didn't like Conley as a draft prospect and nothing he's done in the NBA has caused me to revise my opinion of him. He is exceptional at nothing (except quickness, I guess) and he's small. I think Bayless is a much, much better prospect.

Bibby hits 43% of the 3 pt shots, which is what a PG (and also SF) needs to do in Nate's offense. He's 30 years old. That isn't "washed up".

I like the move because Bibby is the one thing this team needs; a veteran starter with extensive play-off experience.

The one thing that I don't like is that Bibby's contract is up after this season, so I'd be afraid to move either Outlaw or Webster as part of a package for him.

That's why I think this deal is possible. It's just a deal to consolidate some talent and have Bayless start getting more minutes.

Conley's top form isn't top-level. He couldn't shoot at Ohio State from 19'9". What makes him a threat from 23'9"?

What is the point then? This makes no sense. Give away Outlaw for Conley so Bayless can play more? Is Bayless going to play the 4 on the second unit?

I'm pretty sure Conley would be our starting PG after just a few games with the Blazers. If KP is giving up maybe Outlaw and Sergio for him we better let him start.

That will still be Frye, with Webster coming back, and Batum playing so well we have a logjam at SF. Outlaw I think is the most expendable and his stock is reasonably high. If we did the deal we most likely get Warrick who can play the 4 also. You do realize that, right?

Wow, if that is the case, once Conley struggles all of the negative Outlaw/Jack/Frye posts we've seen the past two years will seem like child's play.

Conley rarely plays down the stretch for a bad team like Memphis. I don't want to see him starting on this team.

What is your obsession with having a point guard that can shoot three pointers? Blake's 3PT shooting is nice, but not a necessity. We've been able to manage just fine with Sergio on the floor, who, let's admit, is still a pretty bad shooter.

The other players we've had at the point, Roy and Rudy, are able to shoot the three, so it's not like we're completely getting rid of the three ball at the one.
Should we be trying to get Lowry instead?
