Maybe this move will kickstart Greg AND Mike.

I'm surprised Blazersedge isn't all over this, yet.

Of all the points being made in this whole thread, this one makes the most sense.

Whatever it is that we do, I trust that KP will make the right choice, whether it involves Conley or not. Him and his team have been geniuses so far and I don't expect them to lay an egg just yet.

You guys wouldn't trade anyone decent for anyone. Someone posted this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...9~29&te=&cash=

I find that laughable. Conley was brought in as a project, not as an instant star like Rose and other PG's. This franchise is waiting to see what we saw at OSU. If not we'll probably look else where, but we'll definally not trade him for a player who will be a damn backup for a long time.

He would still come off the bench because we aren't benching Gay, and neither can play PF.

You obviously haven't paid much attention to Outlaw over the past two season. He's more effective at PF than he is at SF.

Uh, so 6'9 Hakim Warrick can play 25 mpg at PF, but 6'9 Outlaw can't? Especially in an uptempo offense?

Outlaw is a good PF - especially in fast-pace basketball - but I would hate giving him up for Conley when we already have Bayless. I would still love to have Conley - but Travis is too much to give for him at this point - he is a project and unfortunately, not a project that you can be absolutely sure will be successful (I think he can, with the right coaching - but still...).

exactly... I'd be really shocked if this deal (as rumored) went through.

Maybe I caught him on a bad night, but I saw a Griz game last week and Conley did not impress at all. He was inefficient in his movements and didn't look like he knew how to attack the D. Just bad... I'd much rather have Bayless get any minutes Conley might garner.

Having watched every game so far this year but one, I've been paying attention and dude is playing his best ball ever this year playing mainly from the 3. This is probably because he's a better player now then he's ever been... should I insult you now to complete my post?

I think this positional effectiveness argument is silly as his offensive game is the same attack wing role he plays regardless of who he's guarding on the other end.

I don't think I have ever seen Outlaw post up. He spots up, takes step back jumpers, and slashes to the rim.

Today's Oregonian says that KP says that there's absolutely nothing to this rumor. He pulled Travis aside yesterday and told him he's going nowhere. KP says that he likes the team the way it is and that the phones are quiter now with trade talk than at nearly any time in the past that he can remember.

While I truly believe that he had a talk with Outlaw, I doubt that the phone lines have been quiet. There have been so many big trades this year and with teams being off balanced or looking to clear cap space, I can see how the Blazers would be great trading partners.

Plus, we've been playing well without our starting small forward who's due back in about a week.

Couple that with Bayless seeing next to no time at all, and it appears that the eventual solution will be to make a trade. Unless everyone is happy playing 15 minutes a game.

Exaggeration, SheedSoNasty. Our 12 active players can play 240/12 = 20mpg.

Everyone plays 20 and we're copasetic! Rotation problems solved!

Outlaw needs to be traded. Webster is coming back, and Batum is already a lot better than Travis at everything.

Now, what does this team need? IMO it needs better perimeter defenders, a PG who can and will penetrate and either finish or dish, and a rugged no nonsense PF

So adding Conley would help one of those things, but where does he play? I don't really think it is a good idea to trade Sergio because right now he is just as good or better than Conley is.

The one thing that would make some sense is to get a third team involved, add some players, or make another trade.

Outlaw for Conley straight up would be great.

Adding Sergio doesn't make a lot of sense, but there is no way our roster should have 3 PG's all under the age of legal intoxication, or close to it.

I'd rather wait and hope Atlanta comes down to earth and deal for Bibby and Williams

Actually, Batum is better right now at the role that Webster has tried to fill for three seasons.

Webster looks like odd man out unless he elevates his game almost immediately. His contract is perfect for a trade, and he is an NBA player...just not a very good one at this point. Yet he is still young and relatively cheap, so he looks like the piece to be moved. Webster can't play Outlaw's role with the second unit, so he'd be taking minutes from either Joel, Frye, or Rudy, I'd guess.

Yea Martell is going to have a lot of work to do to keep his roster spot. He and Channing look to be on the outside looking in.

If we really want Conley why don't we just sign him in 2 years? It looks like he's becoming a bust so far, so why not just wait it out?
