I actually dislike 90% of the announcers in the NBA today. Mike and Mike are the lesser of two evils. Half of the time Rice says stuff that pertains to last year... For example when he said "last night that normally Aldridge comes out in the 1st quarter but you leave him in because he's hot." No sir.. that was last year. This year he's been playing throughout the entire first quarter. But that's neither here nor there. If that's what I have to put up with.. listening to the other color commentators from other teams.... I can deal with it. My biggest issue is when there is a questionable call and they show they aren't really media. But fans. However that's my problem because they're team media game by game announcers. Supposed to be homers. But it makes me go wtf everytime due to being a homer further hurts the casual basketball fan. Then again a casual basketball fan isn't there to see the game. They are watching to see the Blazers win.
I think the Mike's are better than most at acknowledging when they were wrong about a call, or that the Blazers got the benefit of one. In that way I see them as less homerific than most team's announcers.

There are a few I've heard and you're right about acknowledging the right calls. Utah has probably the most unbiased broadcasting team I've listened to. They've got Marv Albert professionalism.
For the record - I like Mike Rice. You can hear the anger when we're down. If he weren't an employee he'd be an S2 boardie.
