Mike Tyson intends to return to boxing and is hoping for a late-2010 bout with Evander Holyfield. If not Real Deal, another opponent will be drummed up. Tyson and Holyfield fought in 1996 and rematched in 1997. In the first bout Holyfield defeated Tyson by knockout in the eleventh round to claim the WBO World Heavyweight Championship. In the third round of the ensuing rematch Tyson was infamously disqualified for biting Holyfield's ears (in retaliation to headbutts, claimed Tyson). Before the rematch former Tyson trainer Teddy Atlas predicted that the former champion would intentionally disqualify himself. After the fight Tyson was suspended and fined $3M for the incident. Tyson (44) last fought in 2005. He was knocked down and out by Kevin McBride in six. He's had four fights since 2002, losing three by knockout with one win over Clifford "The Black Rhino" Etienne. Holyfield (46) has remained active. He last fought in late 2008 losing a controversial decision to Nickolay Valuev in Switzerland. His record is 5-5 since 2002 with wins over Hasim Rahman and some virtually unknown fighters and losses to James Toney, Chris Byrd, Larry Donald, and Sultan Ibragimov.
wow...sad... I remember back in the day everybody drooling over this matchup before Tyson went to jail
